Urban Decay F-Bomb Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color Review

Hello gals!

Hope all of you are enjoying spring season with colorful outfits and ambience. We are also experiencing warm season surprisingly, and are anticipating an early onset of summers. Usually West Coast is famous for messed up climate as it never lets you enjoy full winters or summers. No wonder people prefer East Coast for experiencing those colorful fall and spring seasons, which stay for good number of months.

Urban Decay F-Bomb Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color Review

Nevertheless I like this place for it’s cozy, with small earthquake alerts, nothing big! 😛 Not to forget, I started my family life from this place, which makes it special. Anyway, let’s talk about my today’s purchase – another gorgeous red glossy lip color from Urban Decay.

Price:
$20 for 0.10 oz, available for $10 at major retail stores

Product Description:
Rich and creamy lipstick with insane amounts of high-gloss shine—all captured in one chubby pencil. This addictive pencil delivers all the opaque, saturated, high-impact color of your favorite lipstick and an arresting high-gloss finish in one chubby pencil. A pigment-rich formula with a dynamic bright-to-neutral shade range in creamy and sparkly textures, it’s the ideal way to bring a bit of high fashion to your everyday look. The runway-ready possibilities are endless! Be sure to check out Scandal and Flushed; both are UD.com exclusives that aren’t sold individually anywhere else!

Free of mineral oil and paraffin, this formula contains plant-derived ingredients that nourish, improve skin hydration and protect your lips. And because the barrels and boxes are color-matched to each shade, choosing the color you want is easy, even in the deep, dark depths of an oversize tote.

My Experience with Urban Decay F-Bomb Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color:

packaging

The lip color comes in the usual chubby sharpenable pencil packaging with a fitted cap. It does not have any significant fragrance and looks pretty decent. It is slightly creamy, which makes sharpening a bit tricky. Overall, it is quite a user friendly & travel friendly product, conditions applied though.

The shade, F-Bomb, is described as a bright red creamy shade which is true to its name, plus with high glossy shine. It appears as a slightly blue based tomato red on my lips with a glossy shine. Nonetheless it will work for variety of Indian skin tones, considering its slightly neutral undertones. The texture or say the formula of this gloss seems way more creamy than Adrenaline. In fact, the tip actually melts on my lips and does not stay stiff, which becomes a major issue when I try to sharpen it. It feels more like a gloss on my lips.

Coming to its color pay off, it also maintains a subtle, translucent finish throughout with nearly medium coverage on lips. I believe it is good enough for slightly pigmented lips as well as for dry lips as it forgives minor dryness on my lips too. However, it starts fading after 4-5 hours and it can certainly give dry and patchy lips. It gives an uneven sheen which needs to be taken care of. It also feels slightly sticky in nature when I purse my lips together post application.

Urban Decay Lip Color

It almost appears and feels like a glossy lip color on my lips. Other than that, I am happy with its moisturizing properties as it is neither overtly drying nor intensely hydrating for my lips. I always feel like using a lip liner beneath this glossy and creamy shade though, considering it slightly feathers around the lip area. It has a tendency to travel around the lips over a period of time, which needs to be taken care of. I am also bothered about the fact that it heavily transfers to cups/cutlery; fading and appearing uneven, eventually.

red lip crayon

To sum it up, I think I have better red glosses/lip colors in my stash, hence I won’t need it again. But I will recommend it to gals who shy away from bold red colors. Since the finish is more subtle and translucent, you can easily take chance with this red shade, plus the price is really justified. Still, I would say, conditions applied!

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Urban Decay F-Bomb Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color:

• A wearable, tomato red, glossy lip color
• Creamy texture
• Does not accentuate lip lines or dry patches
• Gives nearly medium coverage with non-cakey finish
• Suitable for beauties with pigmented and/or dry lips
• Does not dry out my lips
• Stays on for 4-5 hours (with transferring)
• Quite affordable, user friendly and travel friendly

Cons of Urban Decay F-Bomb Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color:

• Way too creamy to sharpen frequently
• Does feather around my lip area
• Transfers heavily and feathers a bit
• A lip liner is must

Well I am really concerned about sharpening and feathering issues because the product is so creamy. I always struggle to get a good shape post sharpening; cleaning the messed up sharpener is a pain too. I have noticed that such red creamy glosses transfer a lot. I don’t think I will get it again, though for the price, it is still worth a buy.
