Urban Decay Fireball Eyeshadow Review, Swatch, EOTD

Hello Everyone,

This review will be on one of the eye shadow singles released by Urban Decay in their Summer 2015 collection. The thing I loved about this collection was that it contains quite a few duo chrome eye shadows which I have always held a certain appeal for me due to their transformation abilities. I picked up 2 shades like this one which are Fireball and Lounge. Thies review is on the shade Fireball.

About The product:
An innovative eye shadow that delivers a lasting, high-pigment, velvety finish that lasts.
What it does:
This eye shadow features even softer, velvety texture and richer, more decadent color. Sweep on smoother, more uniform pigment and blend-ability, and longer-lasting, more crease-free wear. This array of shades features a completely revamped assortment of shadows in new textures, and a redesigned token compact.
Formulated with Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, it acts as a vehicle for color that holds tightly to pigment so that the eye shadow can glide on seamlessly. It features a proprietary blend of ingredients that allows color to fuse with the formula, resulting in high-impact color that stays on your lids.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates
What else you need to know:
This new assortment of shades features bestselling favorites, all-new shades, and several shades previously available in past palettes.

Each eye shadow features packaging that’s inspired by New York City subway tokens. The chromed gunmetal compact has a clear window that allows you to see your shade and easily pop your shadows out and into one of the new customiz-able palettes.

My Experience with Urban Decay Fireball Eyeshadow:

Packaging: I absolutely love the Grunge style packaging Urban Decay is so very well known for. The single comes in a sleek gunmetal round case. The case closes securely with a click. Even though the compact is very sturdy its not very heavy in weight. The color of the eye shadow is visible through the outer cap and is also depicted via a similar color sticker underneath the eyeshadow single.

Texture:
This shadow is very smooth and densely packed, hence it does not kick up powder when brush is dipped in. It has a slight bit of grittiness due to the shimmer particles but they never feel scratchy nor do they give any fall out while application. I do find it difficult to pick up enough eyeshadow on a brush to pack on the lid and have found the best application method is simply using your finger to dab the shadow on the eye lid.

Pigmentation:
Absolutely wonderful pigmentation which is also easy to build up! Due to the nature of this being a lighter shade I do need to pack it on heavily for it to show up. It is also very easy to blend and does not apply patchy or give uneven application.

Shade:
This shade is truly magical. I had a very difficult time capturing the true beauty of this in pictures and still don’t feel like I truly did it justice for the way it looks in person is much much astounding. This shade “Fireball” has the duo chrome quality, hence it looks different depending on the angle you are looking it from. It is described as a peach with a pink shift but it has so much more to it than just those two shades. I also detect hint of yellow/pale gold and purple undertone.

Since, this still a very neutral shade I have no problem rocking this during the day time and when it glimmers in the sunlight, it always makes people take the extra minute to notice what is different about your eyes.

Also, it is super easy to create a multi-dimensional eye look with using only this one eyeshadow which truly looks much more complex and looks as if you spent good amount of time on it when you really didn’t.

Staying power:
Staying Power is pretty good. It stayed budge-proof and crease proof for about 5-6 hours after which I started to notice slight fading of the sheen. But overall, the color was still clearly visible at 7- 8 hour mark. This eye shadow definitely benefits with a good primer base underneath.

I highly recommend Urban Decay Fireball Eyeshadow.

In the EOTD:

Used the shade Fireball all over the lid and blended it into the crease. Used no other shadow. Finished of with a slight wing and mascara.

Pros of Urban Decay Fireball Eyeshadow :

• Great pigmentation
• Shimmer is not scratchy
• No fallout
• Smooth texture and easy to blend
• Does not crease at all
• Good staying power
• Most beautiful shade with a eye catching duo chrome quality
• Great shade range to choose from

Cons of Urban Decay Fireball Eyeshadow :

• A lot of shades from the eye shadow single range are not availed in cost-efficient palettes; hence if you have your eye on a particular shade, you have to spend a hefty $18 for it.

  1. Hi Neha,

The color is really nice and looks good on you. But it is slightly expensive for a single eye shadow 🙁

    1. Thank U Anubhuti… I also wish shades like this are incorporated in palettes to make them more cost friendly
