Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector Review

Hello everyone,

This review will be on the Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector which was part of the new Urban Decay summer 2016 collection. I have mine in the shade “light-medium.”
Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector

Product Description:
An oil-free, hybrid complexion cream that instantly and completely blurs imperfections, evens out skin tone for a result that looks natural.
Ingredients

What it does:  Instantly blur imperfections and even out skin tone, and achieve gorgeous skin that appears effortlessly perfected. With Urban Decay’s Naked Skin One and Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector, you’ll reap the benefits of skin treatment and SPF 20 protection with the coverage of a sheer foundation. There’s no need for foundation—one step and you’re done. The innovative, lightweight formula provides more coverage, hydration, and optical blurring than a BB or CC cream. It transforms the look of your skin with light-diffusing spheres so that flaws seem to disappear. Over time, pores appear smaller and skin looks noticeably firmer and more radiant. With a range of shades to cover a wide spectrum of skin tones, this oil-free formula is infused with nourishing ingredients (including peptides, vitamins and moisturizers). Sourced from the wuzhuyu plant, Gatuline® Radiances improve the look of radiance, tone, and texture.

My Experience with Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector:

Packaging:  This product comes in a very sleek-looking tube with a pump dispenser and a cap. I find this packaging very travel friendly.

Texture and Blendability:  This product has a very rich, thick, creamy texture, but even with that, I found this surprisingly easy to blend. I mostly use my fingers to blend and pat this product onto my face and it gives me an effortless, streak-free finish in less than a minute. If you are not a fan of using your fingers, I am sure a sponge or a kabuki brush will work equally well, but I personally love the fast and easy application I can get with my fingers.

Coverage:  This is a light-medium coverage product which is buildable. When I read the term “complexion perfector,” I was expecting it to be just a sheer tinted moisturizer, but it gave a good amount of coverage which helped me get a “perfected complexion” as the name suggested. It is quite opaque even as a thin layer hence it evened out my skin tone effectively, hid all my minor skin redness and blemishes without looking cakey or mask/makeup like on my skin. It was very lightweight on my skin and it truly enhanced my skin instead of covering. My skin looked naturally perfect.

Finish:  This product gives a demi-matte-satin look to the skin. It is very natural looking, not dewy or shiny, but gives just the right amount of luminous glow to not seem flat. You can still easily see your skin’s natural texture which adds to the very natural look it gives. It does set on its own without the need to powder on my normal-dry skin (but regardless, I still prefer doing a light dusting because in hot summer climate, my skin does tend to get shiny through the day). But if you are combo-oily skin, you may need to powder to improve its staying power and help reduce any possible shine peeking through.

Feel and look on the skin:  This product feels very lightweight on my skin. There is no tacky feel to skin. It blurs all my pores even without a primer underneath. It is quite moisturizing as well and keeps my dry skin comfortable. It does slightly cling onto my existing super duper dry patches (which most foundations tend to do on me), but it did not create any new ones.

Shade:  This product comes in 5 shades. I have the shade light-medium which is a good match for my MAC NW22 skin, but it is just a tad bit yellow which was still workable.

Staying Power:  This product wore exceptionally well on my skin for 8-9 hours (which is usually how long I would wear it). It looked just as fresh at the end of the day as when I initially applied it. There was very minimal shine peeking through which a slight dusting of powder or blotting could have fixed, nothing major. There was very minimal fading. It had not oxidized on me either.

Overall, this product feels really similar to my absolute HG – “It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream” except the fact that this UD One and Done does not provide absolute full coverage as the It Cosmetics CC cream, but they are quite similar in terms of finish, blendability, and feel on the skin. Hence I do quite enjoy this product. I know I will be using this a lot as my everyday foundation in the coming months.

If you are looking to get a new foundation for the summer, this is great pick for all skin types. I highly recommend this to all.
