Urban Decay Rapture Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush Review

Hello Everyone,

Urban Decay recently released new items for the summer 2015 collection. The main items among others in this collection were the New Afterglow 8 hour blush and Revolution Lip glosses. I got 1 item in each of this category to try them out and I can say I have not been disappointed.
This review will be on the Urban Decay Afterglow * hour blush in the shade “Rapture”.

My Experience with Urban Decay Rapture Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush:

Packaging:
I love the sleek packaging of this blush. The outer case has a reflective mirror finish which is sort of helpful as the inner of the case contains no mirror. On the inside there is a thatched design over the UD logo through which the color of the blush is sort of visible though not clearly. The color of the blush is marked via a similar colored sticker on the bottom which is very thoughtful of Urban Decay. There is no applicator provided. The outer case does tend to attract fingerprints as most beautiful looking packaging do.

Texture:
These powder blushes are extremely smooth and finely milled. Some shades are matte while others have a hint of shimmer. They do kick up some powder when you dip your brush but it’s not a whole lot hence it’s not bothersome but I rather prefer this than some of those blushes which are so dense making it difficult to get enough on the brush.

Shade:
The shade I have is “Rapture” which is described as deep mauve with a hint of shimmer. The shimmer is very fine hence you do not see individual particles when applied but it translates to a beautiful sheen which makes you look healthy. Hence, even if you are someone who is not a fan of shimmer products you need not be wary of this.

The color comes off a gorgeous mauve with plum/purple undertones. Looks quite unique but is still so beautiful and is easy to pull off on my Light-Medium skin tone very well. I feel this shade will flatter most skin tones. This shade pairs well with both warm and cool-toned makeup.

Pigmentation:
The blush is pigmented enough to show up with 1 swipe but the color is also easily buildable. It does not go on too powdery or chalky and feels incredibly comfortable sitting on the skin. It does not accentuate pores or dryness.

Staying Power:
The staying power of this blush is true to the claim. It stayed 7-8 hours on my skin with very minimal fading.Overall This is a very good product living up to the quality Urban Decay has long been associated with.

The shade selection in this range is very good with 12 shades to choose from browns, pinks to plums and also 1 very crazy awesome looking shade called “Bitter Sweet”(which is bright true purple) which I am so tempted but also intimidated to get (I might just eventually take the plunge as I am very curious to see how it will look on us desi skintones).I will recommend this product.
