Vatika Naturals Indian Acacia (Shikakai) Enriched Hair Oil Review

Today’s review is about Vatika Naturals Indian Acacia (Shikakai) Enriched Hair Oil. I am not going to purchase anything from the brand for the next 365 days (at least); a determined ban as I need to move on to other brand and product reviews.

Vatika Naturals Indian Acacia (Shikakai) Enriched Hair Oil Claims

My Take on Vatika Naturals Indian Acacia (Shikakai) Enriched Hair Oil:

Dabur Vatika Shikakai Enriched Hair Oil comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a cap. The packaging carries the tree logo of the brand. The bottle has all the labels and details. The bottle doesn’t have a nozzle inside, which makes the product messy to use. The nozzle would have controlled the amount of hair oil to be dispensed in one go. It is travel-friendly but do ensure to seal it with a packing tape to avoid spillage which can lead to a complete mess in your luggage.

Taking a look at the ingredient list, it has canola and sesamum Indicum seed oil as the main ingredient as they have added shikakai powder to it. I am personally not happy with the formulation as canola oil isn’t the best choice of hair oil. Also, I am not certain of the presence of shikakai powder, how they have dissolved it, and how will it actually nourish hair in such case. The oil is thin and runny in consistency. It is non-viscous and non-sticky but definitely makes hair greasy.

Dabur Vatika Shikakai Enriched Hair Oil is better for the overnight oiling regime as you can’t just apply it and walk to the market or have a coffee meet up with friends with greasy and sticky hair. It rinses in one wash with a decent amount of a good shampoo. It leaves behind silky, soft and easily manageable hair because it tames frizzy hair. Also, it reduces hair breakage by making hair easily detangled. But I haven’t noticed any reduction in hair fall with Dabur Vatika Shikakai Enriched Hair Oil.

Vatika Naturals Indian Acacia (Shikakai) Enriched Hair Oil Swatch

It neither weighs down hair nor does it make your scalp oily. Oiling definitely does great help in healing damaged hair but the brand’s claims of “revitalising damaged hair” are not so validated. It has a pleasant fragrance but, again, the brand’s claims that Dabur Vatika Shikakai Enriched Hair Oil will cure greying of hair is not validated as we all know that fragrance accelerates greying of hair. It is free of Parabens, though.

It is recommended if you are just looking for an overnight oil to moisturise hair and are not expecting much from the product. I will not repurchase and stay with my regular olive oil for hair treatment.
