Victoria’s Secret Midnight Dare Fragrance Mist Review

Have you ever felt that the product that you had sampled at the store versus what you experience later on while using it seems to be pole apart. Well this tele-serial kind of twist happened with me while using VS Midnight Dare fragrance mist. I think I understand why it is named as ‘Dare’.

My Experience with Victoria’s Secret Midnight Dare Fragrance Mist:

The fragrance mist comes in a plastic bottle with golden hued spray nozzle. Since, the fragrance mist is part of VS Fantasies collection it has beautiful floral imprints on the bottle. The reddish-pink color of the fragrance is gorgeous and this is what lured me towards it. The cap on top of the spray nozzle is not the best feature of the packaging, as it tends to come off very easily. 🙁

This fragrance mist is said to contain notes of raspberry and sandalwood, both of which are my preferred fragrances on their own. But, in combination I did not find them complementing each other. When I spray this fragrance mist, initially for few minutes it smells very sweet like berries as per its description. However after 15-20 minutes, the sweet aroma fades to a deeper fragrance, which I felt was more musky. I did not catch much of the sandalwood fragrance. After an hour the fragrance mist almost fades away and it neither smells sweet or musky, but very mild floral.

My experience with this fragrance mist has not been incredible. This fragrance mist confuses me with all the different aromas I smell within a span of time. It feels like my nose has been taken for a ride! I like the initial sweet fragrance and the floral fragrance later on, but I cannot say the same for the musky smell lingering in between.

Since this is a body mist, the fragrance oil percentage is lesser compared to perfumes. The fragrance also comes as an EDT, along with body lotion and body butter. This fragrance mist does not stay for long on the skin. After an hour I can barely smell it at all.

This fragrance mist represents more of the warmer fragrance notes rather than being entirely floral or fruity like other VS Fantasies fragrance mists. It also contains aloe and chamomile, but I did not notice any benefit to my skin and neither did it help in prolonging the fragrance.

Pros of Victoria’s Secret Midnight Dare Fragrance Mist:

The fragrance mist represents more of warmer fragrance notes rather than being entirely floral or fruity.
It contains Aloe vera and Chamomile (but, did not find their presence beneficial in body mist).
The fragrance mist color is an attractive feature.

Cons of Victoria’s Secret Midnight Dare Fragrance Mist:

Did not find the fragrance pleasant, as it neither represents floral or fruity notes.
The fragrance is puzzling as it changes from sweet to more musky and ultimately becomes floral in the end.
The fragrance does not last long as after an hour can barely smell the fragrance.
Requires constant reapplication of the fragrance mist.
The cap on spray nozzle frequently falls off.
The fragrance mist does not justify raspberry or sandalwood notes.

Would I repurchase Victoria’s Secret Midnight Dare Fragrance Mist?

No I would not buy this product. Since, the fragrance has been so non-appealing, I would not buy the body lotion or shower gel of this fragrance range either. I did not like this ‘dare’ from VS Fantasies collection. 🙁
