Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Fragrance Mist Review

By Rasshi N.

Hello Ladies,

The product I am going to be reviewing today is Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Body Mist, it is from their Exotics collection. As you all know, my great love for all Victoria’s Secret products and their packaging, here is another one to add to the list. This is another product I purchased while on a trip to the US and and yet another product that I picked up due to its irresistible packaging! I know, I know, I definitely need to learn. So, let’s get straight to the review and find out what I thought about this VS product.

Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Fragrance Mist

Price:

I can’t remember how much I purchased it for, but its ranging from 10- 20 pounds on online websites currently. That would be around Rs. 1000-2000 roughly.

Ingredients:

Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Fragrance Mist

Product Description:

Moonlight Jasmine Fragrance Mist Spray by Victoria’s Secret is a fine fragrance for the sensual days and sultry nights, exotic romantic fantasies.  Top notes of Lush Jasmine warmed by vanilla woods.  The interesting mix of ingredients including Chamomile and Aloe which give the fragrance a very calming irresistible feel. The packing is in a very attractive purple plastic bottle with a design pattern and an external nozzle .This is a very feminine , classy fragrance which inspires women to be romantic.

My Experience with Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Fragrance Mist:

Like I said, its packaging is so beautiful and luxurious, it comes in a clear bottle. It has a metallic purple colour to the label along with a metallic purple colour nozzle to match and a plastic cover to go on top. This mist hailed from the range Exotics and I also purchased another mist from the same range which had a yummy fragrance to it and I ended it up so quickly! The mist is purple in colour, but comes out clear obviously. The pump was very easy to use, like all other VS mists and it is definitely extremely travel friendly due to its plastic body, one can be carefree about it lying in their handbags.

Okay, so basically I need to be really careful with any perfumes or body sprays I use, because I tend to get a severe headache with certain kinds of fragrances. But luckily for me, the body mists I have used from Victoria’s Secret previously has never given me a headache, until I came across this particular product. It is supposed to smell like Jasmine, but believe you me, it did not smell anything like that! The smell got to my head almost instantly upon spraying it just once, and I ended up with a headache. Even upon showering, the smell did not fade off, I could still smell it lingering on my neck and wrists for a while. It was a very strong overpowering smell, honestly, to me it smelt like a bunch of really poor and low quality flowers. And I would not call it “feminine” as the product claim suggests, it has a peculiar musk fragrance to it. As much as I liked the other fragrance from the range, I cannot say the same about this one, maybe it was the Chamomile or the Vanilla/sandalwood, that did not go down well with me and my head, I still have no clue.

Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Fragrance Mist

Having said this, this is completely my personal opinion and I would not be surprised that other people do enjoy the smell. The bottle actually is with my sister now and she finds the smell relatively pleasant, but then again she is not as picky as I am about products. So it really depends on personal choice!

I was exceedingly disappointed with the product, since it was after all from one of my favourite brands. So, I received a learning from this, that all products regardless it being from a top luxury brand cannot always be good! Yes, I learnt it the hard way! But better late than never right?

Pros of Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Fragrance Mist:

  • The packaging is gorgeous.
  • The quality of the packaging is brilliant, really sturdy and easy to use.

Cons of Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Fragrance Mist:

  • The smell was too overpowering for me, it was a bit on the masculine side and smelled like low quality flowers (personal choice).
  • Ended up giving me a headache.
  • Availability is a bit limited, but available online.

Would I Repurchase Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Fragrance Mist?

It would be a definite no from my end!

Would I Recommend Victoria’s Secret Moonlit Jasmine Fragrance Mist?

I think fragrance is a very personal choice, something that is appreciated by one person might not be liked by another. So, it would be a fairly personal decision to make. However, I had a very bad headache with it and a disappointing experience, so if ladies you are prone to such issues, I would suggest you give it a miss too!

  1. I love perfumes and body mists but strong ones do give me a headache as well. I was making a VS list for my cousin to bring and I’ll surly be skipping this!

  2. Same pinch Rasshi…..I am very sensitive to strong smells, I end up with headache. Our skin types are also similar, break out with anything types *hihi* *hihi*

    1. Haha, we should exchange notes for skin care products too Jomol! Cause I am always on the hunt to find more that would suit my skin!

  3. Hmm.. Agree Raashi, some smells could be overpowering and do give headaches. I too have this but the packaging is different, purchased recently. I find the fragrance very elegant, feminine and Attractive. Though the only complain is does not long last. But love this, considering it is just mist n not perfume to last that long.

    1. True! Like I said Sneha, fragrances are a personal choice right? Something I like might not be liked by my own mother and something she likes might not be liked by me. I am glad you enjoy it more than I do. Thank you for reading!
      🙂
