Hope everyone is having a super relaxed weekend.  I am here with a review of Victoria’s Secret Simply Breathless Body Lotion.  Whenever I go to the malls, I always have to make a stop at the Victoria’s Secret store. They have a very good and wide collection of exotic-smelling beauty products.  VS Simply Breathless comes under the VS Fantasies Collection, which includes mostly fruity and floral fragrance assortments.

Packaging:

The lotion comes in a light yellow colored standard VS Fantasies plastic bottle with golden colored cap. The bottle is semi transparent so you can very clearly see the contents as it is getting used, which is an advantage.  I picked up this body lotion because it smells really fresh and floral. I have an inclination towards body lotion in comparison to body butters because I find the former easier to apply.  The cap has a press to open nozzle. This really helps in regulating the amount that I want to take out every time I use it. Also, the cap is very sturdy and fits the bottle top perfectly. I have kept this lotion in my backpack multiple times and I have never ever faced the issue of lotion spillage.

Ingredients:

VS Simply Breathless body lotion differs from other VS Fantasies body lotion as it contains aloe, oats and grape seed extracts. However, if you prefer paraben-free product, then this body lotion is sadly not for you.

Price:

250 ml bottle is priced at $14.

My Experience with Victoria’s Secret Simply Breathless Hydrating Body Lotion:

True to its claim, the lotion is very fast absorbing. I find it very easy to blend in my skin. Also, I require very little amount of lotion to apply. Once the lotion gets soaked up in the skin, it does not leave any greasy feeling at all. And the plus point is, though there is no trace of the lotion on the skin, the fragrance still lingers on.

I did not find any silky feel to my skin as it claimed, but definitely very good moisturization. I do not have to think about any re-application up to 6 hours in summers.

During winters, it also passed my scratch test 😛 Winters make my skin extremely dry where a small nail scratch makes my skin flaky. In winters, when I use this body lotion, my skin continues to feel moisturized, though for a shorter time frame of up to 4 hours.

The lotion’s texture is of very smooth and light consistency. It has a very faint yellow color, but after application, it does not leave any yellow colored traces at all.  Even though it mentions it to be a body lotion, I have also used this as my hand lotion and got equally good moisturization results.

Fragrance:

It is a little hard to describe the fragrance as I do not know the fragrance of freesia flower, so I cannot vouch for that. Also, the lotion does not smell citrusy fragrance of mandarin.  In fact, the fragrance is very floral and fruity. I would describe it more as a spring to summer kind of fragrance.  Another positive thing is the fragrance is not too strong. I tend to avoid strong fragrances as it gives me headaches. So even though this fragrance lasts for hours, it is not bothersome but pleasant. After 2-3 hours, I can smell the fragrance only if I smell my skin.

Pros of Victoria’s Secret Simply Breathless Hydrating Body Lotion:

• Lotion is very light in texture, which can be easily blended.
• As the bottle is semi transparent, it is easy to see the available lotion content.
• Keeps skin moisturized, for up to 4 – 5 hours.
• Very fruity and floral smell, which lingers for hours.
• Fragrance is not overpowering or strong.
• No need to wear perfume if you are using this lotion.
• Sturdy bottle with press to open nozzle.

Cons of Victoria’s Secret Simply Breathless Hydrating Body Lotion:

• Availability in India.
• A little expensive (but frequently comes in buy 3/$25 offer).
• For very dry skin like mine, winters may require reapplication in shorter duration.
• It has no SPF.

IMBB Rating:

The product is very good for moisturization with pleasant fragrance.  The -0.5 is for the paraben and chemical contents in the ingredients list.

Would I Repurchase Victoria’s Secret Simply Breathless Hydrating Body Lotion?

Yes, I would recommend this product and also buy it again. I always have got a compliment when I use this body lotion. So why not!
