I hear people saying that they have oily skin or dry skin or combination skin. I ponder then, how should I categorize my skin. I firmly believe that these categories aren’t enough and there should be a category known as ‘insane skin’. YEAH!! 😀 This is exactly how I can describe my skin as it has its own whims and fancies, and thinks that it is on a roller-coaster ride which runs from normal to dry to combination and stops anywhere it wants for any amount of time. Yah, I feel I am reviewing my skin. 😀 Coming to the point, my review for today is for VLCC Skin Defence Aloevera Soothing Body Lotion SPF 15. Let’s see how it fared for me!

Product Description:
This balanced lotion is enriched with Aloe vera extract for long-lasting hydration.
Soothes and smoothens your skin, leaving it feeling pampered and beautiful. SPF 15 provides UVA and UVB protection to prevent skin darkening and premature ageing.

Key Ingredients:
Demineralised water, Paraffinum liquidum, Glycerine, Dimethicone, Stearic acid, Petrolatum, Aloe indica (Aloe) gel, Glyceryl stearate & PEG-100 stearate, Capric/Caprylic triglyceride, Propylene glycol, Cetyl alcohol, Titanium dioxide, Ethylhexyl methoxycinna-mate, Phenoxyethanol, Triethanolamine, Acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Butylated hydroxytoluene, Isobutylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Perfume.

Usage:
Apply twice daily all over your body after bath or 15 minutes before going out in the sun.

My Experience with VLCC Skin Defence Aloevera Soothing Body Lotion SPF 15:

As I mentioned, I have a skin that has its own calendar and a mind of its own, hence it gets really difficult for me to find a body lotion that suits me for most of the times. I am so happy to say that this lotion actually satisfies my skin needs and moisturizes my skin well. The consistency of this lotion is little on the runny side. This is what I really look for in a lotion because I do not like lotions with buttery consistency as they do not blend well or are too greasy. This lotion is not at all greasy and it blends so well in my skin. A little is needed for application.

In seconds, my skin feels moisturized and it gets such a nice babyish feel to it. This lotion has aloe vera extracts that gives me a feeling of freshness as I am head over heels for aloe vera products, and I really consider it to be a magic plant. The lotion has a very mild scent in it which is another pro for me because I have this dislike (read hatred) for strong scents. The product can be a little disappointing when it comes to its staying power because its effect doesn’t stay for long and you may need to reapply the product after 4-5 hours. For dry skinned beauties, maybe a little earlier.

I haven’t used this lotion in winters as yet, but based on the experience of this lotion now, I can safely assume that this product would not be sufficient in winters. The place I live in doesn’t face harsh winters so for me the product may work in winters too. My sister who has a sensitive skin used this lotion and really liked it because it suited her well and didn’t break her out. Another plus point for this lotion is that it has SPF 15 which provides UVA and UVB protection which helps in preventing wrinkles and keeps your skin protected and younger looking. All in all, it’s a decent product and may suit most of the skin types.

• Dry skinned beauties would need frequent applications

Would I Recommend/Repurchase VLCC Skin Defence Aloevera Soothing Body Lotion SPF 15?
Maybe. But there are many other products in the market that work better.
