Well at Walgreens Sunscreen Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Review

By Kanishka Mehta

The heat is raging and so is my skin. It has become impossible to beat the tan without being wrapped from head to toe with scarves, and shrugs and what not. In this race against the sun, I’ve come up with a product review from Walgreens called Well at Walgreens Sunscreen Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 30. This product claims about everything that most sunscreens do nowadays. The question however is, does it keep up to them?
So let’s get started.

Claims:
• Water Resistant (Upto 80 minutes).
• UVA/ UVB protection.
• Helps prevent sunburn.
• Helps prevent skin aging and skin cancer.

Price: $7.99

Packaging: It doesn’t exactly look too attractive, neither otherwise. It’s a medium sized blue tube which is remarkably sturdy, with a click open cap. The product does not ooze out of the tube; hence it goes perfectly in your handbag.

Consistency: Well, it is thick and sort of towards the rubbery side. You need to shake it really well before use, or else, you’ll practically see the oil and the cream as two separate things, and well, it just isn’t pleasing that way.

Color: White.

Fragrance: Negligible. I can’t quite place the fragrance.

My Experience With Well at Walgreens Sunscreen Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 30:

To start off with, I love exploring new products, and hence was very excited to use this one. It looks decent, is sturdy and quite about the right size to pop in my bag, so I was happy with my purchase externally.

Coming to the cream, the cream is wobbly and tends to get rubbery when you try spreading it. Also, it takes quite some blending until it’s totally absorbed by the skin, which is a complete turn off. I mean, it takes too long to apply it, becomes very messy, and you’d just rather want to wash it off in the first place.

However, it doesn’t make me sweat profusely , or accentuate my pores, or feel uncomfortable when it’s absorbed, so that’s one good thing about it as most other sunscreens are downright uncomfortable for me.

I can’t feel the sunscreen being oily or anything once I’m in the swimming pool, so I’m not even sure about whether it’s working then or not. And it definitely does nothing much for tan, but then it never claimed that either.

So to sum up, it’s greasy and gunky; takes quite some effort to spread; doesn’t do anything in particular for the skin; but neither accentuates my pores or make it break out.

So all I can conclude with is that the negatives weigh out the positives, and I’m not very happy with the purchase. This one turned out to be a big flop.

Pros Of The Well at Walgreens Sunscreen Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 30:

• Convenient packaging.
• Doesn’t accentuate pores.
• Doesn’t make me break out.
• Doesn’t harm skin.

Cons Of The Well at Walgreens Sunscreen Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 30:

• The consistency is unpleasant whilst spreading it.
• Doesn’t particularly keep upto any ‘claim’.
• Highly unsatisfying product.
• Not worth the price.

Would I Repurchase The Well at Walgreens Sunscreen Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 30?
No, it turned out a complete waste of space, and I loathe it. Not purchasing this ever again.

Would I Recommend The Well at Walgreens Sunscreen Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 30?
No, I wouldn’t. It isn’t worth the money. And it doesn’t particularly keep up to any claim.

IMBB Ratings: 1/5

Conclusion: Avoid this like the plague. Complete waste of a product. Highly dissatisfying. Complete shame

  1. Kanishka, for Indian summers, at least SPF 50 is needed. Try the lotus matte sunscreen, it’s pretty good or melascreen spf 50 that you get at the pharmacy.
