Wella High Hair Sleek Wonder Review

How is winter treating you? Or should I ask how is it treating your skin and hair? Skin and hair have to be taken care of during winters; for the skin gets drier and the hair gets frizzy. Anyways, today I’m reviewing a product from Wella called High Hair Sleek Wonder.

Wella is a well-known brand for hair styling and hair care products. They provide a wide range of hair styling products for almost all hair issues and hair types. This particular product as the name suggests is for sleek and straight hair. Every women lusts straight hair. They are such a blessing to have. But no matter how straight your hair is, they are never as straight as one can get by using straighteners. Most of the girls use straighteners very often these days. This product claims to eliminate the step of using a hair straightener thereby saving heat damage. Also, it protects the hair from the heat of the hair dryer. Regular use of the hair dryer mars the hair’s natural shine. Let’s see if the product stands to what it claims:

How to apply: Apply sleek wonder in damp hair in sections and comb through. Now, blow-dry, smoothing out each section. Use it only for blow-drying your hair and not if you’re going to use an hair iron.

It provides light control and protects your hair from the heat of the hairdryer. Sleek Wonder is great for your sleek style as it creates a long-lasting straight look until the next shampoo. Anti-frizz effect. Strengthens and protects hair with pro-vitamin B5 and UV filter.

My take on Wella High Hair Sleek Wonder:

Wella High Hair Sleek Wonder comes in a cylindrical long tube with a pump dispenser.The cylindrical tube looks very big; until you actually take the bottle in your hand and realize that it’s only half-filled in reality.

I’m quite a lover of straight hair. My hair is wavy and dry, and therefore I often resort to ironing my hair.  It was only a few months back that I ran into this hair styling product from Wella. It’s a white creamy semi-fluid that claims to give you a sleek hair look without having to use a hair dryer, how cool is that? I was pretty excited to use it. After shampooing my hair I apply a little quantity of Wella High Hair Sleek Wonder from the roots towards the ends in sections. I then use a hair dryer to blow dry my hair in case I’m in a hurry or have any occasion, otherwise I let them air dry naturally.

Sleek Wonder makes my hair look less dry by giving it a mild shine. This also means that it makes my hair little less frizzy.Although, giving me frizz-free and shiny hair, it does make my hair look limp. My hair strands are very thin and therefore the volume of my hair anyway looks less and this product adds up to making it look limp 🙁 If the product is used in proper quantity, then it does its job. But if you apply too much of it, it’ll give you oily-looking hair. And at the end of the day, after the product has completely been absorbed by your hair, you’ll feel your hair are dry and stiff which I hate the most.

Nevertheless, the best part is that it gives protection from the heat emitted from hair dryers. Also, it has Vitamin B5 and UV filter which protects hair from the harmful UV waves. My hair is continuously exposed to sun during the day and therefore I like this feature about the Wella Sleek Wonder.

• Easily applicable.

Cons of Wella High Hair Sleek Wonder:

• The quantity provided is only half the size of the bottle.
• Makes hair look limp and little flat.
• Also makes hair look oily.
• At the end of the day, hair feels stiff.
• Only a hair dryer can be used after the application of sleek wonder. You cannot use a hair iron in my opinion.
• Makes hair look straight but not as straight as a hair straightening job.

Would I repurchase Wella High Hair Sleek Wonder?

No, I don’t think that I’ll want to repurchase this product for there are a wide range of products that will give me non-frizzy and shiny hair. But this makes my hair limp and oily.
