Wet n Wild Idol Eyes Crème Shadow Pencil Distress Review

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

Whenever I buy something, I always tend to buy them in pairs and that’s what happened with the Wet n Wild’s Idol Eyes Crème Shadow. The total collection has 6 different shades and I got 2 of the shades, Pixie and Distress. Today I will be sharing my views about the shade Distress.

My Take on Wet n Wild Idol Eyes Crème Shadow Pencil Distress:

Like majority of the other cream shadow pencils this one too looks like a jumbo crayon that comes with a transparent lid to protect the pencil. This works just like NYX’s Jumbo pencil, but it is smaller in size as compared to the jumbo pencils. The shadow is easy to use, all you need is to swipe the color directly on your lids and it’s done. The color can be blended either with fingers or with a small brush.

The color Distress is a dark denim blue kind of a shade, which is free of shimmers. The shadow is in frosty finish, which makes it shine on the lids. Pigmentation wise the color is amazing in the first swatch and if not blended one swipe is sufficient for a dark smoky eye. But unfortunately, the color completely loses its pigmentation on blending. Blending the color with finger still leaves some color, but if the color is blended with a brush the pigmentation is majorly gone. Only around thirty percent of the color remains on the lids. Many more layers of color are required to make the shadow work.

The color Distress is appropriate to be used as an overall color, in the outer corner for a smoky look; as well as it looks good as a liner and in the lower lash line. But unfortunately, the formulation doesn’t allow it to be used alone. The shadow is too oily and creases very quickly on oily lids. It doesn’t even stay for 1 hour without creasing. To avoid this a good primer has to be used underneath the cream shadow and a powder shadow above it. The same process has to be done if you want to use this eye crayon as a liner. If used alone it fades very quickly leaving no color.

The color is very soft and smooth to apply and blends without an effort and this makes it vanish in just few hours. Normally the cream shadows are used as a base as once they set, it doesn’t come off easily, but this particular one do not set at all. The only thing I can say that is good about this is that you don’t need an eye makeup remover to remove this color, as it vanishes itself in few hours. 🙂

After so many negative points, I assumed that this product is waste of money, but thankfully it is not a complete waste. The color looks good on the lower lash line, and does stay there for a decent time. Obviously the color doesn’t stay for long hours, but yes it can easily stay for 2-3 hours.
