Wet n Wild Poster Child Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection Review

By Ankita Das

Wet n Wild has always been famous for affordable makeup products without compromising on quality. From time to time Wet n Wild introduces limited edition palette which are off-course great but difficult to get hold of. Hence, here I am going to review one of the three permanent eye-shadow palettes.

Packaging:

The packaging consists of a plastic box with transparent lid. The eye-shadows are on a black plastic base. It closes with a click to make it secure. The box if not handled properly may crack on hitting a hard surface. There are 8 eye-shadows, 4 in each column. There are 2 brow bone, 2 eyelid, 2 crease and 2 definer shades given. This type of categorization makes it easy for a new user. At the backm it has been specified where the brow bone, crease, eyelid and definer are meant to be used. There are few looks suggested as well. Each pan has about 1.06g of product making the total weight of 8.5g. It is in my opinion, a good amount of product. There is a small brush provided which is not worth using.

Price:
$4.99 (approximately INR 300)

Texture:
Coming down to real testing! Texture for every shadow is different. The brow bone pale pink color comes out to be a matte shade with pearlescent finish and creamy texture. The second brow bone color yellow has light shimmer in it with a smooth and creamy texture. They do not have any fall out. The eyelid colors have satin finish with soft, crumbly texture and minimum fall out. The crease colors coral pink and dark blue also have fall out, although the texture is smooth. The last two definer colors black and blue with green undertones are matte and have little specks of sparkles, which do not show when on the eyelid. They both are on the drier side texture-wise.

Pigmentation:
Pale pink is hardly visible. The baby pink color is tad bit darker than previous color. The coral pink looks very pretty and will flatter Indian skin tones a lot. The black has specks of sparkle which do not show up on application. First three colors can help you achieve flirty eyes makeup. Black in my opinion will give a dirty appearance when used with pinks due to its texture.

We see yellow looks pretty and has a lot of shimmer. The sea green color, texture and pigmentation wise is very vibrant. It is perfect to be used by brown-eyed beauties. The dark blue and blue with green undertones are not that appealing but can contribute to smoky eyes instead of black.

These eye-shadows look better with two layers. A primer can be used too. Although the pale pink is still not visible on my skin, the other colors become wearable with primer.

Staying Power:
For me, the staying power was 3 hours maximum for the light colors. After 3 hours they faded and were not even slightly visible. The darker colors were present even after 4 hours. After 4 hours, the colors started fading gracefully.

Pros of Wet n Wild Poster Child Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection:

  •  Affordable price
  •  Different color choice(for color lovers)
  •  Smooth texture
  •  Good amount of product
  •  Less fall out

Cons of Wet n Wild Poster Child Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection:

  •  Lack of good pigmentation
  •  Packaging is fragile
  •  Eye-shadows are tad bit on the dry side

IMBB Rating:
3/5

Would I recommend Wet n Wild Poster Child Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection?
If you like colors and want an affordable option, then you should go ahead and buy this palette. You just need a primer/concealer to fix what it lacks.

  1. They have a really nice concept of marking the shadows, but wish pigmentation was there! Except a few shades, I like the shade selection here. Welcome to IMBB Ankita. Looking forward to seeing lots more reviews from you. 🙂
