Wet n Wild Wild Shine Nail Colors – Tickled Pink, Lavender Crème, Blazed, Kaleidoscope, Matte Top Coat

Hello all,

I have an interesting story for how I ended up buying and using the product that I am reviewing today.  A few months ago, my daughter saw some video on youtube which showed how to make crafts using nail polishes. She got interested quickly and wanted to do the same. Now, I tried to talk her out of it and suggested we use all those Crayola art items available in the market. But, nail polishes is all that she wanted!! I absolutely didn’t want her to use my nail polish collection for her crafts. And so decided to buy her some inexpensive ones. And that’s how I ended up buying these Wet n Wild Wild Shine Nail Colors. The craft never got made as my daughter got interested in something else by then. And one day while cleaning the cabinets, I saw these nail polishes lying around – Tickled Pink, Lavender Crème, Blazed, and Kaleidoscope. I tried them out of curiosity. I later also bought the matte top coat. Read on further to find out more about them.

My Experience with Wet n Wild Wild Shine Nail Colors – Tickled Pink, Lavender Crème, Blazed, Kaleidoscope, Matte Top Coat:

I have tried makeup items from the Wet n Wild brand, but had not tried their nail polishes. The packaging for the Wild Shine nail colors is a simple rectangular bottle with a silver grey cap. The brush applicator is a little on the thinner side and I would have preferred it to be a bit wider. The polish is of medium consistency and goes smoothly on the nails. The drying time is a bit high (around 1.5 – 2 minutes) compared to other fast drying products in the market. Lasting power is good and the nail polish stays put on your nails for 3-4 days before it starts chipping.  Now, for some detailed review of each of the colors:

1. Blazed:

This polish looked too orange in the bottle and with a name like that, I thought this one is going to be one fiery looking nail polish 😛 However, it turned out to be a nice coral orange which instantly reminded me of orange popsicles 😛 This one applies sheer in one coat and you definitely need 2 coats. It looks lovely on the hands and can become your go-to color in the summer months.

2. Tickled Pink:

Honestly, I have always stayed away from these kind of cotton candy pinks. I dreaded that they would make my hands appear darker. I was pleasantly surprised and I loved how this nail polish appeared on my hand. It did not appear garish at all. This color is not very pigmented and you will need at least 2 coats to avoid visible nail beds. Also, it tends to be slightly streaky if you are not careful with the application. But overall, if a pastel pink crème nail polish is what you are looking for, you can surely consider this one.

3. Lavender Crème:

Now, this one is definitely not lavender. It is a bright hot pink. I love that it instantly brightens up the hands (and your mood) without looking neon-ish. It is a color which will surely look good on all Indian skin tones. A single coat is good enough, but I like to apply 2 coats just to even it out. Removal is easy and I like that it does not stain your nails in spite of being a dark color.

4. Kaleidoscope:

This is a glitter nail polish with gray, blue, silver particles. You can’t really apply it as a stand-alone nail polish because it is almost like glitter particles suspended in clear nail polish. It doesn’t have any base color to cover your nail beds. However, it can be used as a top coat or for layering on other nail polishes. I have applied it here on top of the Lavender Crème. I like that it applies and dries smooth in spite of the glitter unlike some nail polishes where the glitter feels gritty. It is obviously a bit difficult to remove due to the glitter particles.

5. Matte Top Coat:

This was something I picked up on one of my later shopping visits. By then, I was suitably impressed by the value for money of this brand and decided to try their matte top coat. I believe that everyone should have a matte top coat in their vanity; I love how on a Monday morning, I do not have to sit and remove that bright nail polish that I wore over the weekend. Instead, I can instantly mute it down with a matte top coat and make it office-friendly. Wet n Wild’s Matte Top coat is wonderful and takes away all the glossiness from your nail color. Compared to some other matte top coats in the market, this one is a real steal for $1. I have applied it here on my ring and little finger on top of the Blazed nail polish. You can clearly see how it has converted it into a matte coral-orange nail polish.

To summarize, these nail polishes may not be the best out there, but they are easy to apply, stay on great, and come in some cool colors and all this for only 1 dollar. You can’t really beat that.
