The product I am going to review today is Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil Moisture.

Product Description:

This Cleansing Oil is formulated with coconut oil to gently remove tough waterproof makeup while protecting and moisturizing skin.  Effectively removes the following makeup: Eyeliner, Mascara, Lipstick, BB Cream, and Eye Brow makeup.

$3 for 25 ml. Also available in 200 ml bottle.

Ingredients:

Key ingredient in this cleansing oil is coconut oil. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids which gives great moisture when applied to skin.  Rest of the ingredients are good emollients and emulsifiers.  Note: Coconut oil is fairly comedogenic. So, if you have sensitive or acne prone skin, or sensitive to coconut oil please avoid this cleansing oil.

My Experience with Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil:

To me, oil cleansing is the best way to remove makeup and sunscreen. It gently glides off your makeup and deep cleanses without making skin dry. Simple reason why you should use cleansing oil is because oil mixes in oil but not in water. If you use a water-based cleanser to remove your waterproof makeup and sunscreen, it will not clean the entire make up properly. And you don’t need to scrape a cotton pad with makeup remover across your eye and really rub/tug/pull your skin which is kind of abrasive and harsh.

Rain or shine, I wear sunscreen every day. I don’t wear makeup daily but I wear CC cream and compact powder.  I use DHC deep cleansing oil or Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Oil balm (I adore this) daily to remove my sunscreen. Since those are kind of heavy, I bought this travel-sized cleansing oil from Etude House for small weekend trips. There are three types of Real art cleansing oils – One is Real art cleansing oil Light (for oily skin), second one is Real art cleansing oil Moisture (for dry skin) and Real art cleansing oil Deep Moisture (for very dry skin).

I have dry to combination and dehydrated skin, so I chose the “Moisture” version. This cleansing oil comes in a yellow-colored bottle with white screw cap. Did you notice Mona Lisa on the bottle? She is not giving her signature smile but looks like she was surprised! I am assuming the theme behind this cleansing oil is that your face looks so good that makes even Mona Lisa to gasp!!

I apply about 1 ml of this cleansing oil on my dry face and neck and gently massage it into my skin for 3 to 4 minutes. Sunscreen and makeup starts to dissolve in oil when you massage. I rub it gently on my eyelashes to remove my mascara and it does not burn my eyes. Later, I wet my hands in water and massage again for a couple of minutes. The oil emulsifies when mixed with water and turns into milky white. Then, I wash with lukewarm water.

My skin feels smooth and clean after drying my face with a towel.  But it does not remove waterproof mascara effectively. There’s still some mascara left on my lashes. After oil cleansing, I generally wash my face again with Sebamed Clear Face cleansing Foam to remove any excess oil that stays in the deep pores. Though I liked this cleansing oil, I would prefer my Banila Co cleansing balm or DHC cleansing oil more to cleanse my face. So after finishing Real Art Cleansing oil, I am thinking to decant some DHC cleansing oil into this bottle when I am travelling.

• Available in different versions to choose according to your skin type.
• Paraben free.
• Alcohol free.

Cons of Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil:

• Does not remove waterproof makeup effectively.
• Coconut oil may clog pores for acne prone or sensitive skin.

No, I like my other cleansing oils more than this.

Would I Recommend Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil?

It depends on one’s personal preference. If you are not sensitive to coconut oil or do not wear any waterproof or heavy makeup, you can try this.
