Yu Be Lip Balm Review

Yu Be Lip Balm Review

Hey my gorgeous friends,

How have you been? I had been busy in my kitchen for a while and as our visit to India is coming closer, I am a lot busy with cooking and shopping.  Moreover, I need to impress the relatives from my hubby’s side and this is the best way to win their hearts, isn’t it? Anyway, today I am here to share another great discovery with you all and I am sure you all will give me “duas” for introducing such great stuff.  Off late, I have realized the significance of clear lips.  Since then, I have been focusing on skin care and lip care and during my trial and error phase, I revealed a few effective and worth trying stuff and this Yu Be Lip Balm is one of them. So, please read on further to know more about this Japan-based Yu Be Lip Balm.

Yu Be Lip Balm

Price:

$5 for 0.15 Oz (4.2 gm).

Packaging:

This golden, honey-colored lip balm comes in a traditional, opaque, retractable packaging with orange cap. Overall, quite ordinary and travel-friendly packaging.  Now my issue is that the first few uses are pretty fine with this retractable base, thereafter, the balm does not fully retract inside the case and I need to press the balm in order to push it inside.  Other than that, I don’t have any issue with its packaging. Not to forget, its strong camphor-coconut mixed smell which might bother those who do not like camphor; however, I love it and feel nostalgic as it exactly smells like coconut oil mixed with camphor which my naani (maternal grandma) used to prepare for my hair to treat dandruff.

My Experience with Yu Be Lip Balm:

This is my first experience with camphor-based lip products and I loved it totally for its cooling effect. Seriously, its camphor smell is not bothering for me because it effectively soothes and treats my lips from day one of usage.  Believe me, when I say that it treats chapped and dry lips from day one. I had been going through bad lip days since a few weeks courtesy dry summers and my lazy habit of skipping water intake.  I tried fresh lip balm along with their lip scrub which solved my issues up to a good extent, but still, I used to experience dry and flaky lips very often.  Finally, this Yu Be lip balm came as a savior and completely treated my flaky and dry lips.

Yu Be Lip Balm

There was a time when I used to scrub hard before wearing lip colors as every lip color started to sink into my flaky lips, but now, I hardly scrub my lips more than once in 2-3 weeks. This Yu Be completely solved my problem of dry and chapped lips within 1-2 weeks and now I am hooked to it (I also took care of my diet and water intake).  I use it at night and during daytime alone and it’s impressive to see that it stays on my lips for a good 3-4 hours and even if it fades away from my lips, I get well hydrated, soft and supple lips for 4-6 hours, isn’t that amazing? I always wake up with fresh, soft lips unlike earlier days when my lips used to crave for lip balm every 1-2 hours.

Yu Be Lip Balm

I feel that it gives slightly glossy, thick yet transparent sheen to my lips which is not very slippery and sticky unlike other balms and I can wear any lip stain or lip color over this balm without the fear of it feathering and/or bleeding around my lips. It’s been a month and still this tube seems to serve me another couple of months. However, I have just one minor issue that after 5-6 usages, the balm does not retract completely inside the bullet and I need to press it with my finger to close it carefully without damaging its tip.

Yu Be Lip Balm

Never mind, I can still live with it because this lip balm blew me away with its efficacy and gentle texture. If ever I would have to choose between my favorites – Aveeno, Burt’s Bees, TBS lip butters and Yu Be lip balm, then I will blindly choose this Yu Be first, then followed by Aveeno and others. I highly recommend this lip balm to every beauty, especially beauties who suffer from chapped, dry lips very often, it is a bliss for lips truly! Wear this lip balm and forget about priming or scrubbing lips.  I am definitely getting it again and again till I find anything closer to this naturally-formulated balm.

Yu Be Lip Balm

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Yu Be Lip Balm:

  • A naturally formulated, glycerin-based balm without parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, dyes, sulfates, and petrochemicals.
  • Infused with the goodness of aloe extract, shea butter, coconut oil, vitamin E, and rosemary leaf extract, etc.
  • The results of its natural formulation becomes visible on the lips from day one.
  • Effectively treats and hydrates dry, chapped, flaky lips from day one and within a week of usage, I skipped scrubbing totally from my lip care regimen.
  • It made my lips incredibly smooth and supple irrespective of my diet and water intake, and the weather around.
  • It does not irritate my lips and I can feel how gentle it is on my lips, truly a bliss for dry lips.
  • It can be easily worn under any lip color without the fear of bleeding or feathering as it is not as sticky and slippery as other balms.
  • Stays on for good 3-4 hours on my lips and even if it fades away, I get soft and smooth lips for another 5-6 hours.
  • Totally transformed my flaky, dry lips into soft and smooth lips within one week of usage.
  • Considering its effects and wonderful results, I feel it’s a steal for the price.

Cons of Yu Be Lip Balm:

  • Does not have SPF sunscreen.
  • Smells strongly of camphor mixed with coconut oil which might be a bit overpowering for sensitive beauties.
  • After a few usages, the balm does not retract completely inside the bullet.
  • It might take some time to treat flaky lips completely, it won’t work as miracle product to treat them overnight.

Well, I believe, all these cons are really minor in front of its wonderful results. I am certainly getting it again for its natural formulation and absent chemical list. I can notice the goodness of applying natural formulated lip balm on my lips which gently treats and improves my lip texture.  For me, it is a must-have lip care product and I will give it 4.9/5 wholeheartedly!

I also tried my hands on ombre lips (courtesy soft and hydrated lips), which gives a perfect photogenic finish. Please do tell how yo liked them 😛
