Za True White Plus Two-Way Powder Foundation Review

Bonjour IMBBians!

Today, I am going to review the powder cousin of Za True White Liquid Foundation – The Za true white powder foundation.

Claims: Brings out the inner glow of your skin tone and perfectly covers all the imperfections on your skin. Makes your skin flawless and radiant and creates a pearly white finish. It is infused with smooth micro-fine powders which provide a delicate veil without clogging pores. It also has Vitamin C in it to suppress melanin formation which creates dark spots on the skin. It is dermatologist tested, so safe for skin.

Packaging: I’d say the packaging scores a perfect 5/5 for me. It looks elegant, with its silver packaging, the clasp is secure, and it has a separate compartment with ventilation holes for the sponge.

Price: The packaging is sold separately – at 400 INR and the powder is sold as a refill for 550 INR.

Texture: The powder foundation has a smooth texture – it blends well , and the subtle beige in the shades leaning towards yellow, gives a colour correcting effect for my predominantly yellow under toned skin, that needs a bit of a boost.

Shade Range: According to the website, there are four shades. The shades 20, 21 and 22 are yellow based and 32 is pink based. I have received the shade 21 which is medium warm with a tiny amount of beige in it.

Coverage: The coverage is light and buildable to medium. It covers minor imperfections, like dark spots and subtle pigmentation.

My Take On The Za True White Plus Two-Way Powder Foundation:

The powder foundation suits my skin more than the liquid version of the same range. The powder gives a very natural look when worn on moisturised skin. I can dab it on for some oil control and a matte radiant appearance, when I go out for casual outings. It has a SPF 20 PA ++ which is a good amount of sun protection in a powder foundation.

I`m obsessed with Japanese skincare products in general because, hello! Their models and even people outside of the show-biz have radiant skin! I would definitely like to try out more of their skincare for sure. The powder claims to have vitamin C for brightening the skin, and also sun protection which is a bonus for a college going girl like me. It doesn’t melt off in the heat; in fact it looks better after it has settled properly on the skin – just like powders tend to do.

One great way to make your powder look natural on you is, to moisturise your skin first , then applying the powder , and finishing off with a spritz of spring water , or a fixing spray , or just a homemade fixing spray (there`s a tutorial on how to prepare it on IMBB). The powder really boosts my yellow toned skin, and gives it a peachy colour-correcting effect. It does stand up to its claims of providing a pearly finish to the skin.

Given the SPF content of 20, it is advisable to not wear this powder for evening parties. For evenings, a translucent powder with no SPF like the Kryolan loose powder or Chambor luminizing powder is a good choice. For my oily to combination skin, the powder works well, does not give me any embarrassing sheen, and is definitely a lightweight choice for mattifying the skin.

The powder eventually gets washed off in intense sweat, but has a good lasting power. It gives a heavier coverage when used wet instead of dry. However, one should not use this powder foundation with a full coverage foundation because, it would give too much coverage altogether and look obvious. So, use it with a tinted moisturiser to look human.

Pros of Za True White Plus Two-Way Powder Foundation:

• It has Vitamin C which reduces dark spots.
• It has an SPF of 20 PA++.
• It provides a matte finish , and gives decent oil control.
• It has a colour correcting effect and balances out the excess yellow undertones.
• It claims to be non-comedogenic and is dermatologist tested.
• It can be used both wet and dry.
• It is more affordable than other wet and dry alternatives in the market like Chambor powder foundation.

Cons of Za True White Plus Two-Way Powder Foundation:

• The shade range is not as extensive as pro brands provide.
• The outer packaging has to be purchased separately.
