Zoya Professional Nail Lacquer – Janel, Rue, Lidia Review

Hello lovely friends,

By now, you must have noticed how much I love nail paints. 😉 So here I am, with some more nail paints for you all. 🙂 I have heard so much about Zoya nail lacquers, but never got around to try them due to their limited availability. Being free from formaldehyde, toluene, DBP and camphor, they are definitely free from harmful chemicals.

My Experience with Zoya Professional Nail Lacquer – Janel, Rue, Lidia:

Packaging: All three shades come in the standard Zoya packaging. The square glass bottle is sturdy and has a black colored cap which has the applicator brush attached to it. The brush is round, and not very bushy or thick. In fact, I find it very small and thin and is not up to my liking. The brush handle is also not big and is quite small when compared to other brands like OPI.

Details

Janel: This is a deep red cream which is perfect for fall and winters. I love red on my nails, so I would love to wear this in any season. 😉 A very beautiful shade which would look good on all skin tones.

Rue:  This is a perfect n*de for my nails which makes them look neat and sophisticated. Great shade for office wear too.

Lidia: It is beautiful eggplant cream shade which sometimes may look black under different lighting. I absolutely love this shade and how it brightens my hands. 🙂 I wanted a purple, eggplant shade from long and this totally fits my bill.

Application and Drying Time: All three shades apply well. The consistency is not too thin, but quite okay and spreads easily on the nails. However, a single coat does not apply uniformly and comes out streaky too, but the second coat applies evenly and without any streaks.

These nail lacquers from Zoya are not quick-drying ones. They do take some time to dry and even though in a couple of minutes, the top layer feels like it is dry, but it is still susceptible to nicks, cuts and sheet marks. They take a couple of hours to get fully dry. Honestly, no matter how much I like applying nail paints, I don’t have that much patience. I like quick drying nail lacquers. All the shades take almost the same time to dry.

Staying Power and Removal:  The staying power is also not too good. I usually test nail lacquers without a top coat, for review purposes. 😉 And without any top coat, all three shades did not last too long on my nails. With all the household chores, they started fading from the tips after 2-3 days and start chipping by day 3-4 days 🙁

All the three shades are easy to remove and dark shades stain a little along my cuticles, but no major staining with the dark shades, even without a base coat and no hassles in removal too.

Pros of Zoya Professional Nail Lacquer – Janel, Rue, Lidia:

  • Big 5-free (that’s the term they use!!!) :/ (including formaldehyde, toluene, DBP and camphor).
  • Pretty shades.
  • These nail paints get applied uniformly.
  • Consistency is okay.
  • Thick glass bottle.
  • No staining.

Cons of Zoya Professional Nail Lacquer – Janel, Rue, Lidia:

  • Availability.
  • The brush is very narrow and small, not up to my liking.
  • The brush handle is small too, when compared with other brands.
  • Staying power is low.
  • Takes a lot of time to dry fully.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Zoya Professional Nail Lacquer – Janel, Rue, Lidia?
Well, I loved the shades, but did not like the formula. I would purchase these shades again but in some other brands, they are not most unique shades any way.
