10 Beauty Hacks Every Makeup Geek Should Know

Hope you girls are doing super-awesome. And to keep all you makeup geeks out there going, I have complied a list of 10 life-saving hacks. These are hacks that can be used in day to day lives, with no extra effort at all and in the end, you are only saving up on so much. Read on to know if you would like to use any of these hacks.

1. Revive your Mascara:

While it is advised that you dispose the mascara post 3 months of opening the seal, during these three months, if you ever find your mascara drying up or if you feel you are not getting the maximum product build up, then use this trick. Heat some water to boiling hot, take the water in a bowl and place your mascara in to this bowl for about 5-10 minutes to get the most out of your mascara.

2. Applying Fake Lashes:

If you are one of those, who has struggles with applying fake lashes looking straight in to your mirror, then ease out your trouble by simply placing your mirror on a table and looking down at the mirror which will give you a better visibility while you place your lashes in the desired position. Voila! And you can also use the same trick to apply eye liner if you have trouble doing it looking straight in the mirror.

3. Loose Curls Vs Tight Curls:

A lot of us love those voluminous and gorgeous curls in our hair but did you know that how you hold the curling wand while you curl your beautiful mane can actually alter the end-result? If you want loose or wavy curls, then hold the curling wand horizontally (perpendicularly to your body) and curl your hair around it. And if you want tight curls, then hold the wand vertically (parallel to your body) and curl your hair around it. It is that simple you see!

4. Fix that Broken Lipstick:

Don’t panic if you just dropped your favourite lipstick and the bullet has just popped out or broken mid-way. Just place it back in to the tube, with the entire bullet standing out of the tube, now use a lighter and hold it around the exact point where the bullet broke off. Hold the flame around the area for a minute, leave the bullet to set for a few minutes and your lipstick will be left intact as if nothing ever happened.

5. Shaving Foam for Foundation Stain:

If you just stained your t-shirt or top with the foundation on your neck, don’t worry. Here’s what you can do. Apply some shaving foam over the stained area and then pop it in to the washing machine. Your garment will come out washed sparkly clean with no traces of your foundation.

6. For Instant Hair Volume:

If you want to add some instant volume to your hair, go the other way round with your hair wash routine. Apply conditioner to your hair first, leave it on for 5 minutes and then go in directly with your shampoo. Once done lathering up, rinse off as usual. This will add some great volume to your hair.

7. Blow-Dry for Volume:

You can also add a lot of volume to your hair by using a hair-dryer on hair flipped over upside down. This will add some fresh boost and volume to the hair instantly.

8. Stained Mascara:

A lot of times, a lot of us have faced this, we accidentally stain the area around our eyes with mascara while coating our lashes. We dab it off immediately to clean up the area but that usually messes it up more. So, do not panic the next time you have a mascara stain, just wait for a few seconds before it dries up on your skin. Once dry, you can easily scrap it off using a q-tip with zero mess on the skin, thus leaving your makeup intact.

9. Coat lashes with Liner:

For a natural, no-makeup look or if you do not want to dig in to your mascara every single day, then coat your lashes using your eye liner wand, by simply moving the wand parallel to your lashes, like just how you use the mascara wand. This will add instant volume and length as well with zero clumping and a more natural flutter to the lashes.

10. Instant Fix for Dry/Chapped Lips:

Place a used green tea bag (while it is still warm) over your lips and press it against the lips for a few minutes. This will instantly fix those chapped and dry lips leaving them hydrated, soft and smooth.
