10 Homemade Eye Treatments for Dark Circles

Dark circle around the eyes is a common problem and can happen to anyone. When you do not get enough sleep, eat wrong food, stress a lot and work on computers, having dark circle is inevitable. The under eye gels and creams are mostly very expensive and the cheaper ones do not perform well. In this post, I will tell you about 10 cheap homemade masks and concoctions that help to fade the dark circles.

1. Rose Water Mask

This is probably the easiest thing to do at home. Boil some rose petals in a pan with water and cool it down to get your homemade rose water. Now, soak some rose water on a cotton pad and apply it on the eyes. Keeping it on for 5-10 minutes will freshen up the eye area and brighten it up.

2. Coconut Oil Mask

Coconut oil is great to combat the dark circles and regular massage helps to reduce dark circle quite a lot. Take a few drops of oil and massage it around the eyes once every day to see effective result.

3. Almond Oil

Almond oil is the best natural eye cream for dark circle. You can apply it directly under the eyes or mix it to your night cream to convert it to the eye care cream. It fades the dark circle and brightens up the area too.

4. Cucumber Paste

Grate some cucumber and chill it in the refrigerator. Apply it under and around the eyes and leave for 25-20 minutes till it dries. It cools, relaxes and rejuvenates the skin. It removes signs of darkness and makes the eyes look wide open.

5. Milk and Baking Soda

Mix 4 table spoon of milk to two table spoon of powder and chill this paste in the refrigerator. Apply the cooled mixture under the eye and wash it off after 20-25 minutes. This makes the skin light and regular use fades the circle to a great extend.

6. Potato Paste

Potato juice is known for its scar healing properties and it works well on dark circles too. It also relaxes the skin. Apply sliced potato on the eyes or you can apply the juice directly on the dark circle. Wash off after it dries completely.

7. Tea Bag

Instead of throwing away the used tea bags, use it as a eye mask. Normal tea bags work fine and green tea bags are even better. Chill them in the fridge for 5-10 minutes and then apply them under the eye for 10-15 minutes. It relieves the area, reduces puffiness and makes it brighter.

8. Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe vera juice has multiple skin healing properties and it does wonders to under eye dark circle. You can apply this directly under the eye or mix it with cucumber or potato juice to double up the effectiveness.

9. Pineapple and Turmeric

This mixture works very well for dark circles. While turmeric lightens the area, the pineapple juice heals from within. Make a paste using the pineapple juice and turmeric and apply it under the eyes. Wash off when it dries.
