10 Home Remedies to Get Rid of Body Odour

Hope all of you are having a great day! Today is a fresh, bright and sunny day and I have something on the same line for you. All of us sweat and that is a natural process for human body, while it is not an issue to sweat, a lot of us sweat excessively and sometimes it can lead to an unpleasant smell, that we know as body odour. Body odour can be an embarrassment especially if it has an unpleasant or fishy smell.


There are a lot of temporary fixes available in the market in the name of deodorants but hey I just called it “temporary”, didn’t I? So, here I bring to you ten all natural home remedies to get rid of that unpleasant body odour. If followed consistently, a few of these can give you permanent results. So let’s get started with the remedies.

1. Sandal Wood and Orange Peel Powder:


Use this remedy before taking a bath. Mix equal parts of sandal wood paste and orange peel powder, mix these two well and apply on sweat prone areas and wash off once dry. Use daily for permanent results.

2. White Vinegar:

Dip a cotton ball in white vinegar and rub on your sweat prone areas, the smell of white vinegar will disappear in a few minutes. This can keep you dry and odour free up to ten hours.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar:


This is a very simple and instant fix from body odour. Spritz apple cider vinegar and wash off after a couple of minutes. This remedy helps eliminate body odour by balancing the pH level of your skin.

4. Tomato Juice:


Grind about 6-7 tomatoes and extract the juice from the pulp. Add this juice to a bucket of water and use it to bathe yourself daily to get rid of the body odour.

5. Wheat Grass Juice:


Drink a glass of wheat grass juice every morning on empty stomach, the chlorophyll in the wheat grass kills the bacteria in your body, you might want to start with 3-4 spoons of the juice and increase quantity gradually as you might feel nauseous, if you drink too much of it at once. This remedy can help you get rid of the odour problem permanently if used for a considerable period of time.

6. Sea Salt Bath:


Add a handful of sea salt to your bathing water regularly, to control the body odour. Sea salt can act as an antibacterial agent therefore preventing the build-up of bacteria.

7. Turnips:

Extract the juice of a turnip and apply it on your underarms and other sweat prone areas and leave it to dry. You can wash off with lukewarm water once it is dry. Follow this once a week.

8. Baking Soda and Lemon Juice:


Mix equal parts of baking soda and lemon juice, mix the ingredients well and apply the mixture on areas where you sweat, wash it off once it is dry with plain water, do not scrub while you wash, follow up with a bath. Use this remedy at least once a week for a permanent solution.

9. Lemon and Honey:

Mix well the juice of one lemon and one tablespoon of honey, now add this to 2 cups of warm water in a bowl, wash your sweat prone areas with this water every day after taking a bath and pat dry.

10. Food Intake:

And, last but not the least, also take care of what you put in your body. Avoid food containing caffeinated drinks, garlic, onions and spicy food. All this can aid in the production of body odour, hence avoid.
