10 Homemade Oatmeal Face Packs

Oatmeal beauty treatments are good for all skin types, more so for oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin types because it calms and soothes inflammatory reactions, reduces redness, and makes skin even toned.  It cleanses, moisturizes, and exfoliates skin.  Oatmeal is an excellent exfoliator and cleanser, it can absorb excess oil.  It is also known to lighten skin tone and improve complexion.  If you think soaps and face washes are harsh for your skin, switch to oatmeal to clean your face.  It cleanses skin without ripping the moisture off the skin. Oatmeal face packs are a great way to reap benefits of oatmeal.  Let’s check out some of them.

1.  Honey Milk and Oatmeal Face Pack:


Ingredients Needed:

  • Oats.
  • Honey.
  • Milk.
  • Curd.


This pack is good for all skin types.  Those with dry skin, can add milk.  If you have oily skin, you can skip milk.  Add 4 tablespoons each of fresh curd and milk in 2 tablespoons of grounded oats, add in 2 tablespoons of honey.  Apply this pack on your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.  Honey and milk act as moisturisers. Curd removes all the tanning and act as a natural bleaching agent. Oats calm down the skin and smoothens the skin texture.  Skin feels soft, tighter and pores look smaller after I use this pack.

2.  Skin Whitening Oatmeal Face Pack:


Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 table spoons of oats.
  • 4 table spoons of normal milk (should not be boiled).
  • 4 table spoons of lime juice.


Take 2 table spoon of oats and boil it in water. Let it cool. Then mix 2 table spoon of milks and 4 table spoons of lime juice. Mix it well. Apply this pack on your face-hands-neck or you can use it all over your body. leave it for 20-25 minutes.Then wash it off with lukewarm water.

3.  Oatmeal and Almonds Face Pack:

Almond Face Pack

Ingredients Needed:

  • Oats – 2 tablespoons.
  • Almonds – 5
  • Honey – 1 tablespoon
  • Milk or yogurt – as required to dilute the face pack.


Blend the almonds to a powder form.  You should get an almond meal which looks like the consistency of wet sand. Add the oats to the almond meal and pulse it again. You should get a nice powder consistency.  Add yogurt, honey and apply to your face.  Leave the pack for about 15 minutes or until the pack feels dry completely.  Use circular motions to remove the pack.  This will exfoliate and massage skin really well and make it soft.

4.  Oatmeal and Papaya Face Pack:


Ingredients Needed:

  • ½ Papaya fruit – depends on your requirement.
  • 2 tablespoons of oats.
  • 1 tablespoon almond oil.


Mash the papaya to a pulp.  Grind oats in a mixer if you want a milder one.  Mix the oats and papaya pulp together. Add a spoon of almond oil. You may replace almond oil with your favourite essential oil.  Take a little amount and gently scrub all over your face/body. If you feel that the texture is a little tight, add a few drops of water and continue massaging.  Scrub for 2 minutes and wipe it off with lukewarm water.  You would feel your skin becoming soft.

5.  Oats and Tomato Face Pack:


Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 tablespoons of oats, grind in a mixer into a fine powder.
  • Half tomato.
  • Half a tablespoon of chilled rose water.


Make a puree out of the tomato.  Add puree to oats.  Add rose water and mix well, make a paste.  Apply this paste all over your face and neck.  This pack contains goodness of oats and tomatoes. Tomatoes lightens tan, removes dirt from pores, and oat is a great exfoliator.

6.  Oatmeal Cleansing Milk:


Ingredients Needed:

  • A cup of oats.
  • Water to boil the oats.
  • Boiling pan and a filter.


Boil oats in a boiling pan under low heat till it becomes thick.  Stop heating when there is a little fluid left in it.  Filter this semi thick oats porridge.  Strain all the liquid from the mix. It might take a few minutes for all the oats milk to get strained out, due to its thick consistency. The consistency of the extracted milk will be a little bit thick and sticky.  Let it cool. Your oats cleansing milk is ready for use.

This cleansing milk when used instead of face wash soothes sun burns and treats inflammation.

7.  Oatmeal and Kiwi Face Pack:


Ingredients Needed:

  • 1 ripe Kiwi fruit.
  • 2-3 tbsp of powdered oats (just dry and blend the oats till you get a powder, much easier to use than whole oats).
  • 1-2 tbsp natural unflavored yogurt.
  • 2 tbsp honey.


Blend all the ingredients together till you get a paste. If its runny in consistency, add more oats.  Apply in circular motion all over face for 5-10 minutes.  Wash off with water. Get bright moisturized skin instantly.

8.  Banana and Oatmeal Face Pack:

  • Bananas (Quantity-1).
  • Oatmeal (Quantity-1 cup).
  • Vanilla organic essential oil (Quantity-2-4 drops).
  • Glycerin (Quantity-1 teaspoon).
  • Almonds (Quantity-12-15). Benefits to the skin: Exfoliating properties which scrub off dead skin and make the skin soft and supple.


Ground the almonds to a powder form.  Mash the banana and combine it with ground almonds, ground oatmeal.  Add glycerin and vanilla essence and adjust the consistency by adding required amount of rose water.  Apply on the face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes depending on your skin type. Oily-skinned beauties should not leave it on for more than 15 minutes as it might make the skin secrete excess sebum which can cause acne. Exfoliate for 2 minutes before rinsing. Rinse the face with warm water. Pat dry with a napkin and feel your rejuvenated, soft and radiant skin.

9.  Oatmeal and Rose Water Face Pack:


Ingredients Needed:

  • 1 spoon of besan (gram flour).
  • 1 spoon of oats.
  • 1 spoon of honey.
  • Rose water.


Grind the oats to a little powdery form. Add a spoon of besan (gram flour) to the powdered oats and mix them.   Take a spoon of honey and add it to the mixture.  Add the required amount of rose water.  Apply on the face for 20 minutes and rinse off.

10.  Oats and Green Tea Face Pack:


Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 tablespoon besan.
  • 2 tablespoon oats.
  • 1 table spoon milk powder.
  • Rose water.
  • Pinch of turmeric.
  • Green tea bag.


Take a bowl, add besan, haldi and milk powder.  Grind oats in mixer and use this powder.  Add this powdered oats to above mixture. Open used tea bag, take out its leaves and add it to above mixture.  Add rose water to the mixture. Mix everything to make a paste. Apply it on clean face; let it sit for 20 minutes, then wash face with warm water.

  1. Awesome compilation! I love oats for my combination acne prone sensitive skin and use it extensively in my face packs since besan doesn’t suit me. And yes it works wonderfully as a face wash too! *happy dance*
