10 Quick Fixes for Pimples and Spots

Hello girls!

Hope you all are doing great! I’m sure we all know the struggle, when it comes to achieving and maintaining that perfect and spotless skin. So, here we are talking about keeping all the acne, pimples and spots at bay. Here are some few quick fixes, if you got to deal with a pesky pimple or if you have been fighting those stubborn dark spots and pigmentation. I am going to mention a few very accessible and easy hacks, most of them that I reach out for when required. Let’s get started.

1. Ice Cubes for Pimples:

If you have a huge red pimple bothering you, just wrap a piece of ice in a cotton cloth and gently dab it on the pimple for a few seconds. Do this before bed time and next morning you will find a considerable reduction in the redness as well as the size of the pimple. Never use ice directly on the skin, always use it wrapped in a cotton cloth.

2. Toothpaste for Pimples:

Another hack to help in reduction of pimple size or to dry down the pimple is to apply a calcium based (NOT the gel ones) tooth paste over the pimples. This will rapidly dry out the pimple thus reducing its appearance on the face.

3. Turmeric for Pimples:

If you have a very painful pimple or a very huge pimple filled with puss, then your best bet is our very own antiseptic right from your kitchen, the turmeric or haldi. Mix a pinch of haldi with water and apply it over the pimple, you can do this multiple times a day, just apply and leave it to dry, the longer the better or you can also apply it overnight for best results. The turmeric tends to dry out puss-filled pimples quickly and makes the dried pimple head automatically fall off with no scarring or spots.

4. Honey and Cinnamon for Acne:

Grind some cinnamon into a fine powder and mix it with some honey, you don’t need to measure anything here, all you need is a mixture of the ingredients I mentioned. Once you have a fine paste of the honey and cinnamon, apply this paste over the acne. Doing this regularly shows a considerable effect and reduction of the acne.

5. Rice Powder for Pigmentation:

This one is my special favourite. It works wonders if you can religiously follow the regime. All you need is some rice powder, preferably make some at home, rather than getting it from the market as that can be a little coarse. Soak some rice overnight, you can make any quantity, as this can be stored (in dry condition) for long period, now spread it out on a plate and let it dry for a couple of days in bright sun. Once the rice is crispy dry, now grind it in to a very fine powder. Keep the texture soft enough, so it doesn’t hurt your skin during exfoliation. Now, every time you need a scrub, scoop a spoonful of the rice powder, mix it with either gram flour, milk or honey, and gently exfoliate you skin like you would use a normal scrub. This works wonders in reducing pigmentation even from stubborn areas like the neck, elbows and knees.

6. Onion Juice for Scars and Spots:

If you are trying to deal with fresh scars or dark spots, then this hack can be helpful. Extract some onion juice by blending half an onion in the blender. You can add any essential oil or rose water to drive away the pungent smell in the juice. Apply this juice regularly to the scars and spots to see considerable reduction. Wash off once dry. For best results, use freshly prepared juice. Remember, this trick works on fresh scarring only and not on old ones.

7. Potato Juice for Pigmentation:

Here is another easy hack for pigmentation, potato juice works great in reducing pigmentation. Extract some potato juice by blending a peeled potato, prefer using freshly made juice. Apply the juice on to the spots or pigmented area regularly to see great results. Wash off once dry.

8. Coconut Oil for Spots:

Did you know that something as simple as coconut oil can be your best friend when it comes to reducing spots on the skin? Use organic coconut oil, apply a little bit of it over the spots and leave overnight. Doing this everyday can give you healthy, glowing and spotless skin.

9. Baking Soda and Tooth Paste for Black Heads:

This is probably the cheapest, easiest and quickest hack to remove black heads. Mix baking soda and tooth paste in equal quantities, now pick this mixture up on a clean, moist tooth brush. Wet your skin where you have black heads, and using this brush, gently exfoliate the affected area in circular motions for a few minutes and wash off with warm water. You will see an instant difference in the black heads.

10. Lemon Juice and Rose Water for Dark Spots:

This one is yet again my personal favourite as it has worked for me. Mix two teaspoons of fresh lemon juice with one teaspoon of rose water, dip a cotton ball in this mixture and dab it over the dark spots or pigmented area. Doing this every single day for at least a month will give you results you won’t believe. You will see a definite reduction in the dark spots and pigmentation.
