This post is dedicated to all the pretty ladies who are in their twenties, like me. Your twenties is the last decade when your skin will look naturally fresh and radiant. After this, skin definitely requires the help of anti-aging products and for a lot of women, makeup too. In order to enter your thirties with good and naturally beautiful skin, you need to start and maintain good skin care habits right from your twenties! Here’s how you are damaging your skin without knowing and how to deal with it!
By Not Washing Your Face Regularly
Cleansing your skin twice a day should be a part of daily routine. It is important that you cleanse your skin in the morning and night as well. Most of us cleanse our skin in order to maintain hygiene, but not everyone makes it a point to clean their skin in night before going to bed as well. Research shows that cleansing your skin before bed is essential to look younger. Daytime cleansing prevents the skin from producing more oil and nighttime cleansing prevents the skin from dehydration.
By Not Drinking Enough Water
If you aren’t drinking at least eight glasses of water every day, your body may get dehydrated which may cause your skin to look dull and dry. As a result, your body may produce lot of oil in order to self-hydrate itself which will may cause pimples and skin problems. Drinking good amount of required water not only hydrates your skin, but also removes the excess toxins from your body. Believe it or not, water makes a big difference in skin health and many celebrities swear by it!
By Consuming Insane Amounts of Sugar
Most of the girls in their twenties binge on desserts that contain a lot of calories which results in sagging of skin. A lot of people are dessert fanatic and their sugar intake levels are high which results in breakdown of collagen and elastin that causes wrinkles and skin sagging. In order to keep looking younger and avoid skin problems, you may turn to some healthy dessert recipes, which include fruits, organic dried fruits and other healthier snacks, which could satisfy your sweet cravings and at the same time care for your skin too.
By Skipping Out On Sleep
If you sleep late at night or worse, don’t get at least five hours of sleep, your skin is sure to look dull and with that, you get an extra bonus of dark circles absolutely free! You are most likely to experience sallow skin and puffy eyes and your body produces stress hormone that breaks skin collagen failing to keep skin smooth and elastic. So, the next time you plan to compromise your sleep for internet, try to visualize your skin ten years from now!
By Touching The Skin And Popping Pimples
Picking, touching or squeezing your skin should be avoided come what may! Popping a pimple or squeezing it may result in a breakout exacerbate existing acne. Even if you are leaning your face on your hands you tend to transfer the bacteria from hands and palm onto your face. Popping pimples can also enlarge your pores.
By Sharing Makeup With Your Friends
Sharing is caring, but when it comes to sharing makeup with your friends it’s good to be selfish! You can gently tell your friends that you can’t share your makeup and provide her with a little bit of information about the harmful effects of sharing makeup. This way, she can get her own products the next time without fail. Sharing makeup involves a high risk of skin and eye infections. If your friend’s skin is acne prone, the chances of bacteria getting transferred to your skin become high too!
By Talking On Phone For A Long Time
Talking on phone more frequently for longer hours may give birth to more and more bacteria because of oil that gets trapped under the phone. This may lead to rashes and any kind of skin irritation. Try cleaning your phone’s screen and keys often to avoid the negative effects of phone on skin. Avoid this at any cost especially if you have sensitive or acne prone skin.
By Wearing Heavy Makeup
A lot of college girls or working women in their twenties are used to applying heavy makeup on daily basis. Even if you belong to the category of girls who apply makeup occasionally, it’s always a good idea to keep your makeup minimal and not pile heavy layers of makeup on face. Applying heavy makeup may result in blocked pores, which would result in acne. Also keeping your makeup minimal will allow your skin to breath. Also, make sure you follow a good skin care regimen including CTM and skin protection, and remove your makeup properly each time you apply it.
By Indulging In Too Much Caffeine
Coffee contains a chemical called tannin, which dehydrates the skin. It can also causes your skin to become more dull and rough over time. Some experts believe that it can also worsen the existing acne problem. If you are getting addicted to coffee it’s not too late to quit coffee for good. For some people who are highly addicted to coffee can gradually minimize its intake.
By Not Exercising On Regular Basis
Believe it or not, nothing will make you look and feel as healthy and radiant in coming years as regular exercise during your twenties! Exercising daily not only contributes to good health, but also good and healthy skin. If you aren’t exercising on a regular basis, you may end up looking old in your early thirties. So, not for anyone else, but yourself…just put on your jogging shoes and go for that long pending run!
If you have been guilty for any of these, try quitting the habits that ruin your skin.
