Those long and voluminous lashes look so drop dead gorgeous. Don’t they? Eyelashes can impact your overall look. And, making your eyelashes look longer and voluminous is no big deal. However, we often face certain issues like clumping and flaking with mascara applicaton. So, I am here with a few tricks that can assist you in making your eyelashes look gorgeous.
1. Sprinkle Some Eye Shadow:
You often use baby powder for your eyelashes to make them look voluminous but sometimes, the white residue of the baby powder can form a layer on your lashes. So, you can use a matte eyeshadow instead of using a baby powder. Apply an eyeshadow of the same colour of your mascara. It will not leave any build up on your eyelashes.
2. Heat Up the Tool:
Heating your eyelash curler with the help of a blow dryer is a way too old method. Alternatively, you can heat up the curling part of the eyelash curler. Dip the curling part of your eyelash curler in hot water for 5-7 seconds as water can heat up the metal faster than air. Now, wipe the water off and curl your lashes.
3. Use Primer Before Curling:
Aside from the primers used for your eyes and face, there are eyelash primers also. An eyelash primer is applied the same way as a mascara. It ensures to make your eyelashes thicker and let the mascara last longer. Although a single coat of mascara is sufficient to use, you can wait and see if you want to apply another layer or not.
4. For Lavishly Long, Perfectly Defined Lashes:
If you desire to attain the look of longer eyelashes, wiggle your mascara wand back and forth starting from the roots towards the tips. It will make the coat thicker at the roots while not weighing down your tips and will make your eyelashes appear longer and well-defined.
5. For Voluminous Lashes:
If you have sparse lashes and want them to look thicker, then apply mascara on the both sides of your eyelashes. While applying the mascara, look alternatively up and down to achieve an even coat. It will make your eyelashes look thicker and longer. Alternatively, using a baby powder or a matte eyeshadow between each coat can thicken the lashes as well.
6. Layering is the Key:
To make your makeup look gorgeous, you must layer it instead of applying thick layers at a single time. So, instead of applying the mascara, again and again, try to layer it. We know, how difficult is to remove the waterproof mascara with all those rubbing and yanking of eyelashes. You can apply a regular mascara in the first coat and then, apply another coat using a waterproof mascara. It will make the mascara last longer and can be removed with ease as well.
7. Wipe off Excess with Tissue:
To prevent the mascara from clumping, always keep a tissue handy to wipe off the excess product. Wipe off the wand instantly when you feel that the product is getting accumulated on the eyelashes.
8. Hold the Brush Correctly:
To attain a perfect eyelash look, you must hold the wand properly. If you want to achieve longer-looking lashes, use the brush horizontally. It will make each lash stand out and look longer. If you want to achieve a more natural look, use the brush vertically.
9. Soak the Mascara Tube:
If your mascara is almost getting over and it is hard not to get clumped eyelashes, then try soaking your tube in warm water. It will help in removing the excess product from the sides of the tube. It will remove all the clumps while ensuring a smoother application.
10. Use a Waterproof Mascara:
A waterproof mascara will help in making the eyelashes look gorgeous for a long time. It will provide a smudge-free look and stay all day long at the same time. However, if you find removing waterproof mascara a great deal, then apply it over a layer of regular mascara.
11. Replenish Flaky Mascara:
If your mascara becomes flaky and dries before the expiry date, then add a few drops of saline solution to replenish the formula. Alternatively, you can mix a few drops of your alcohol-based eye makeup remover to liquefy the formula. These both tips will make the formula smoother and application easier.
12. Use a Brush to De-clump:
Use a brand new baby toothbrush to comb your lashes from the roots to the tips. The soft bristles of the toothbrush will help in de-clumping your mascara without irritating your eyes. Do not use a used toothbrush in any case as it can irritate or infect your eyes. And, sterilise the toothbrush after every use.
