12 Signs you Have Too Much Makeup On!

When you are a beginner, then it is quite easy to go overboard with your makeup. Here are tell-tale signs which will tell you, that you have too much makeup on!

You have racoon eyes:

If you put too much mascara, eyeliner or kajal in your lower lash line and it smudges, then my friend you have got yourself temporary dark circles or racoon eyes.

In photos, your face is whiter than the rest of your body:

Do yourself a favour and take a photo of yourself with flash. If your face appears too bright or white, then it means you have got too much foundation on your face and that doesn’t even match your skin tone.

Your eyebrows look like they were painted onto your face:

One needs to fill in their brows with a brow pencil, that blends in with your brows and you are not supposed to use jet black pencil to fill in sparse and brown brows. So, if your eyebrows look like they are painted on your face then you are probably wearing much of the wrong colour.

Removing your makeup takes you over 15 minutes:

If it takes you more than 15 minutes to remove the layers of makeup and several cotton buds, then it might be a sign that you have put on too much of makeup!

You don’t recognize yourself in the mirror:

You can get a terrible case of mistaken identity, if you are habitual of wearing so many layers of makeup on an everyday basis. One day you will look in the mirror and you probably won’t see yourself.

You have ‘Tide Lines’:

Tide line, is the visible line between your face and your neck. If you are seeing it, then it may mean that your foundation was not blended properly, you forgot your neck or you used the wrong colour of foundation a bit too much.

You’ve got spider eyelashes:

This is another sign that, you could be coating your lashes with too much of mascara and don’t know when to stop! When your eyelashes start clumping together and sticking out at awkward angles this is a sure sign it’s time to tone down the mascara.

You can feel your makeup:

Like you can literally feel the weight of layers of foundation or you can feel those spidery lashes. Every time your facial expression changes you’ll be able to feel it move, in worst cases your makeup might crack and flake away.

Everything is accentuated:

As a rule of thumb, one must emphasize only one feature at a time be it eyes or your lips. If you are looking in the mirror and your lips as well as your eyes are fighting for limelight then it might be time to tone them down.

Your makeup smudges on everything:

If your partner or friend is hesitant to hug you or kiss you then it might be because, you have applied all the makeup that was in your stash and they are afraid that it will rub off on them too.

You have bronzer everywhere to make your skin the same color:

Bronzer needs to be used sparingly on few points of your face and not all over like a powder or a foundation. If you are using it all over your face then you are using way too much of it.

Your cheeks look unnaturally red, pink, brown, mauve or orange:

You don’t know which colour of blush goes well with your face and you still haven’t mastered the art of blending, results; too much of blush like a clown!

Your under eye area looks really white:

It might be because you used too much of wrong shade of concealer, that is lighter than your skin tone. It could also be because you didn’t use a colour corrector before using the concealer.
