4 Easy and Incredible Makeup Looks for New Year’s Eve

Hello everyone,

As you may have guessed from the title, this post is about some very simple but, incredible makeup looks that you can create for the upcoming party season. Christmas and New Year’s Eve are two occasions that are just around the corner, and these makeup looks are easy to create and will work beautifully for all the festive parties that you’re planning to host or attend this season. I have previously written a few posts on the must-have makeup products for the festive season, so, once you’ve got your hands on those, these looks are easy to create and fun to experiment with. These are, of course, just my suggestions based on what I think works for me and I like. Feel free to add your own touch of creativity to any of these looks. Before you move on to wearing your makeup, make sure that your skin is prepped and primed adequately for the makeup to go on smoothly and last long.

Let’s get started!

1. Winged Eyeliner with a Red Lip:

This is a classic festive makeup look that can work for any celebratory occasions round the year. To sport a winged liner and red lip look, make sure that your skin is concealed well and looks flawless. Additionally, make sure that your skin has a semi-matte or a soft matte finish. For a winged liner, opt for a long-lasting black liquid liner such as the Stila Stay All Day liquid liner or the Kat Von D tattoo liner. For a red lip, you could either go with a cool-toned classic red lip such as MAC’s Relentlessly Red or a warm-toned red lipstick like Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in Spiced Brandy. Go for a lipstick with a matte and long-lasting finish, as that is all the rage this season!

2. Dark Neutrals with Glowing Skin:

If you’re not into bold and dramatic looks like that of a winged liner and a red lip, then, this option will be a good one for you to try. On your eyes, wear eyeshadows that belong to the deep brown colour spectrum. The Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette will give you multiple options. You could finish off your eyes with a soft brown eye pencil, such as MAC’s Eye Kohl in Teddy. For your lips, go for a deep brown shade such as the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit shade in True Brown. Keep your skin nice and dewy with a foundation that offers you a luminous finish. Make sure to add lots of highlighters to finish off the look.

3. A Bright Pink Lip with Metallic Eyes:

If browns, neutrals and reds aren’t your things, then it’s time to go pink. Choose a bright pink lip – it could be something in a fuchsia tone like MAC’s Girl About Town or something vivid and bright like MAC’s Impassioned. For your eyes, use a metallic finish eyeshadow or eye crayon. Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks have some great colour options for the same. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze gives you that frosty, metallic finish in just one swipe.

4. A Dark, Bold Lip with Soft Neutral Eyes:

I do love a dark, bold lip in the winter season. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen or Transylvania are good options. Pair your dark lipstick with soft neutral eyes. Something like the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette will give you that look. You can skip the eyeliner and complete the look with several coats of mascara. No matter which makeup look you choose to wear, remember to go for lots of highlighters, bronzer and a long-lasting lipstick for that flawless festive look!
