4 Ways To Cleanse Your Face Without Soap

Last year, I ran out of my facial cleanser and I honestly had no time whatsoever to pick up a new one, this year the same thing happened too. So, I went online to search for DIY cleansers and found this instead. I do this every time I run out of cleanser and I thought I would share it with all of you. It’s soap-free, natural and it’s all in your kitchen, which I’d say is a plus. Check it out!

Milk:
I would say that this is a classic. Did you know Cleopatra’s beautiful skin was achieved by this natural cleanser? Milk has lactic acid in it and it actually is amazing for removing dead skin cells. Also, don’t use fat-free and low-fat milk- go for whole milk. Why? The fat and milk proteins will moisturize and plump your skin.  Just pour a small amount on your palm and massage it into your face like how you normally would with your usual cleansers, pat your skin a little to really allow your skin to absorb the nutrients and wash it off. It works wonders and leaves your skin feeling softer and fairer too.  And for sensitive skin girls, combine whole milk with aloe vera and don’t worry, I didn’t forget about those with dry skin, just whole milk with a whipped egg. But if you want to reap the full benefits of milk, you can take a milk bath too.  I have never done a milk bath, but I know of a friend who did and she told me the results were great, she was left with soft and fairer skin.  She would do a milk bath once a week.

Lemon:

Lemons are my all time love. They’re amazing for detoxifying and weight loss. I drink a whole lemon everyday, but guess what? It’s a awesome cleanser for my oily skin girls out there and it makes you look younger and fairer which is an absolute plus. Just apply fresh lemon juice to your face, let it sit on your skin for a few seconds so that your skin really absorbs it and then moisturize. You don’t have to wash it off. You might think if it will sting, but it doesn’t, it’s pretty refreshing, just avoid your eyes because it’ll sting for sure. Also, you can also use this after your facial cleanser as a non-scrubbing exfoliator.  However, if you want a cream-like cleanser, combine it with some yogurt or even milk.

Brown Sugar or Sugar:

We all know brown sugar or sugar is great for exfoliating and removing dead skin cells, but it’s also great as a cleanser. Combine your sugar with a small amount of oil.  Olive oil is what I use, but you can use coconut oil too if you’d like. Coconut oil and olive oil will actually moisturize your skin and the sugar will remove the dead skin cells, but if you’ve got oily skin, you can still use sugar, just replace the oils with aloe vera gel.  Gently massage this on your face and even your body if you would like and rinse off after. You’ll be left with soft, smooth and exfoliated skin.

Honey:

Another great natural cleanser, moisturizer and ingredient for DIY masks. Honey has a natural humectant, it draws moisture from the air.  It will actually leave your skin feeling soft, dewy and you’ll have a natural healthy glow. I use organic honey but you can also use raw honey. However, don’t use processed honey because that probably doesn’t have much nutrients in it. Raw honey has many benefits for our skin. What benefits? To name a few, it has amazing healing properties, soothes irritated skin and it reduces redness.  Combine honey and olive oil, you can get a moisturizing cleanser. You can also opt to use this as a overnight mask.
