Many women have naturally dry hair. For some, it is due to pollution exposure and for others, it is a result of the chemical treatments. Whatever the reason is, any homemade hair mask out of these can treat the dryness well. You can easily make them at home and use them before you shampoo the hair.
Best Homemade Hair Mask For Dry Hair
1. Jojoba and Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is nourishing for all skin types and jojoba oil in particular works well for coarse, dry hair. Take 2 tablespoon of each oil and mix them to create the perfect concoction. You must massage it in your scalp too to get the maximum moisturizing benefit. Start from the tip where the hair is the driest and work up to the roots
2. Egg and Mayonnaise
If your dry hair tends to get frizzy, this is the most effective hair pack that you can use. The egg yolk and mayonnaise strengthens the strands, make them soft and give it a very shiny appearance. Mix two egg yolk with 4 tablespoon of mayonnaise to create the pack. You can also add some lavender oil to it if the smell bothers you. Try to use the pack before shampooing the hair.
3. Avocado and Olive Oil
Avocado is not only a super food for the body but also for the hair. The good fat in it moisturizes the hair and gives it very soft, shiny appearances. Olive oil also brings back the shine and makes the hair silky and the combination of the two is perfect for dry hair. Mix 1-2 tablespoon of olive oil to a ripe, mashed avocado and leave the pack for an hour after application.
4. Banana and Olive Oil
Do not throw away the overripe banana from your fruit basket and use it to make a pack for your dry hair instead. The vitamins and minerals in banana nourish the hair and make it super soft and manageable. Olive oil just enhances the effect and makes the hair really shiny. You can use this pack before or after shampooing the hair. Mash 2 ripe bananas and mix a table spoon of oil to it. Apply this to the hair and wash off after 10-15 minutes with lukewarm water.
5. Milk and Honey Mask
This is a lightweight yet effective pack for dry, brittle hair. The ingredients nourish and soothe the hair without being heavy. It keeps the hair silky and manageable and makes styling easy. You will basically have to drench the hair in the pack and wait for 15 minutes before washing.
Apart from these 5, hot oil massage is always great for dry, damaged hair. Virgin coconut oil, argan oil, almond oil or concoction of all these can be super healthy for the hair. Give your scalp and hair a long, gentle massage and leave on the oil pack for at least an hour. You can also leave this overnight. Wrap the hair with a warm towel to trap in the goodness and enhancing the effect. Shampooing the hair after this is a must.
