Lotus Herbals FloralSTAY™ long-lasting lip colour

My review:

Why should you buy Lotus Herbals FloralSTAY™ long-lasting lip colour?

  • Highly pigmented: One swipe of colour on lips and you are done.
  • SPF-10 Finally we have a lipstick that would give us protection against sun.
  • Does not dry out your lips.
  • Becomes kiss proof once it is set with powder. Tested and tried. lol! I am not saying anything more on this. 😀
  • The lipsticks are creamy.
  • Has long staying power. I wear these lipsticks during the start of my day and they stay as is until I am not having a proper meal. Even after that the lipstick does not fade completely, there is a stain of colour on my lips. You might have to reapply it once during the day or depending on how often you are having oily food because oil tends to break the staying power of lipsticks. In fact, one of these days I even had a soupy maggi and a sizzling sizzler but my lips didn’t go completely bare.
  • The packaging is so pretty and elegant that you would rather want to flaunt these lipsticks. 🙂  See full packaging HERE.
  • The lipstick is in  satin finish. So if you don’t like completely matte or very glossy lips, these would make a good choice. In fact, these would work great for working women.
  • The lipstick bullet is thin has a slanted top. It not only makes the application easier but also helps in lining the lips perfectly.

Red Rover: OMg! OMG! This is my first red ever and it’s oh! so! gorgeous. 😛 I have fallen in love with this completely. The other day I wore it with bare cheeks and barely any makeup on eyes. Loved it. This is orangish red colour and has a slight hint of gold in it. For those who are just starting with red. This is THE colour. 😛

Bubbly Nude: I apply this colour and and then I reapply this and then I keep applying it until I get tired of applying it. 😛 I am sold by this colour. It is one of the best nude I have ever come across. This is a beigish based nude. A lot of times the flesh coloured nudes completely washes out the colour from your face. This one would give just the right hint of colour or no colour. Droooll!!

Why should you NOT buy Lotus Herbals FloralSTAY™ long-lasting lip colour?

  • Limited shade selection. I would want to see loads of neutrals, pinks, nudes and corals in this range.
  • I wish they had a see through top. This would have made it a lot easier to locate the lipstick shade.
  • The cap is not very tight. Not that it keeps opening but it opens very easily. This area seriously need to be worked upon because women carry lipsticks in their bags and a loose cap does not help at all. I carry my lipstick in a tiny pouch. 😛

  1. Rati Rati Rati… why didn;t I come across your blog before…. Sigh sigh! It wud have saved me hours of researching on makeup on the internet and hours more in locating the brand outlets (hardly any Indian brand reviews! 🙁 ).

I’m not much of a lipstick person but i was just planning to start out. I’ll think I’ll check out some of these…. Any tips for starters?

So it seems I’ll be spending my weekend swatching out these lipsticks… ..:D thnx..

    1. Zualai, Aww!! thank you. 🙂 Me and Rima are the coverts from lip glosses. 😛 I guess lipsticks give a better pay off and you can play a lot with them.

For starters my only tips would be have three kinds of colours with- a pinkish toned, a nudish toned and a brownish toned colour. That should be the starting point and then you will find your own colours what looks good, what makes your face glow and so on. Just have fun with makeup. Break the rules and and experiment. 🙂

Do swatch them. You would be able to find atleast one for yourself. 🙂

  2. omg bubbly nude!!

    ok so the verdict..
the award for the most loved nail polish goes to.. *drumroll* CANDY DROP! *wholf whistles*
the award for the most loved lipstick goes to… *drumroll* BUBBLY NUDE! *woohoo!*

the packaging of both products is beautiful! sleek! stylish!

rati you’re blessed, but what on earth are you going to do with so many lipsticks?

    1. I join the droom and drums. 😛 It’s such an addictive colour. 😛 Some Gift, some use. The gifting process has already started. 😛

      1. your friends must be thrilled! the pleasures of having a friend running a successful makeup blog! 😉 god bless you and your blog and give you both a looong loooooooooong life!
floralstay is such a breezy, summery name!
i am giving a thought to bubbly nude as i seriously lack a good nude shade. considering revlon’s nude attitude as well. lets see what looks best on me.

        1. Indeed they are thrilled. The colours have already been chosen. 😛

Thank you for thinking that my blog is successful. I think I have a long way to go. 🙂 I gave up on the idea of buying Nude Attitude because that is flesh toned nude and I already have a similar shade from Lakme. But after this I think you must have both kinds of nudes in your collection. Floral Stay is a nice name. I got tired of hearing long stay and long lasting. 😛

Thank you for all the wishes. 🙂

          *Love*

  3. hey guess what….my neighbour wanted to go beauty shopping and guess who helped her out with all her choices…moisturiser, sunscreen, eyeshadow, lipstick etc etc ;)…woow now I am even able to help ppl buy their makeup and beauty stuff

  4. Ohh we bght loads of stuff…St. Ives Whipped Silk moisturiser, Lotus Sunscreen w SPF 30 (lovved the fragrance), after checking out a lot of eyeshadows finally bght Maybelline Chai Latte Quad, Maybelline Whitestay compact, a lipstick n lip gloss n couple of nail paints, lotus herbals lip balm…dont rem the shades right now…will check out n let u know…there were couple of other things on our list but since we went late in the eve the shop was closing down by the time we could pick up everything so one more round to the shop is due 😉

BTW just incase you didnt know…I rem reading somewhere on ur blog that u have tried Lotus Sunscreen w SPF 40 and its good but u didnt like the brown colour…I was told that this SPF 40 was with foundation base and I guess thats the reason for the brown color 😉

This shop has a lot of scrubs, body butters in various flavors from some Middle East brands, boots etc and I was just drooling over the color n fragrance….but I have a lot to finish before I can get my hands on new stuff

    1. Oh wow!! I don’t know about the foundation base but it mattifies the skin and is non greasy that’s the reason I like it and the brown colour is grrrr… 😛 I will check out their SPF 30 sunscreen quite liked their SPF 20 ka fragrance. I have used their lip balm during my college years. It used to come in pot then now I think they have shifted to the tube format. That’s a relief.

What a shopping spree. I sounds so exciting? 🙂 Do let me know your reco list. I checked the Khadi stuff here, still not available here. You only write a post on it (only if you want to, i.e..). 🙂

      1. yeah..it was very exciting!!! I too have the lotus lip balm in the pot and just waiting to finish it so that I can buy this tube….this is a new launch called lip therapy, the pot is still available…nice flavors in the tube one….Cherry, Fresh Mint, Chocolate and Coccoa and the best part is its with SPF 15….

You know I loveed the Chai Latte Quad….I must have swatched it couple of times before but didnt buy since I already have a lot of eyeshadows in brown but we did a little demo session yest post our shopping and I am just loving the colors…..lets wait and watch till when I resist not buying it 😉

Oh I forgot to mention….I checked out couple of things from Elf too….they’ve introduced this new Elf counter at this store….good stuff…

N ya i will surely do a review on Khadi 😉 how I can say no to you

        1. What fun HD! lol!! I swear this season we would have some SPF for protection against sun. I ahve always been worried about my lips during summers. Have so many lip blams to finish yet, I guess this would have to wait.

HD you have grown so much so soon. I remember your first few posts and now look at you now. So happy for you. 🙂

I love that chai latte quad. I really cannot finish my makeup without that. It’s so amazing. The highlight colour is just appropriate without looking anything out of the place and the lid coloiur is just perfect to even out everything. I can go gaga over it. 😛

Haven’t checked the ELF counters yet. It’s been many days i have gone out for shopping. WIll keep a look for them this time.

Okz. Would wait. Thank you. 🙂

BTW whens ur next video coming up?

  5. Anyone tried the new Lotus mattifying gel sunscreen – SPF 50? I bought it over the weekend and I have got to say it has worked well so far.. Firstly its a gel so no greasy residue.. plus they take the mattifying bit quite seriously – absolutely no T Zone the entire day ! 🙂

On the suncreen bit…will be able to comment in a few days..

    1. I think lotus sunscreens are the latest ones to go for…specially since earlier most ppl had complains of greasy skin after sunscreen……this one sounds good for ppl with oily T-zone!!

    2. rakhi, would love to hear your view. 🙂 As it is any info on sunscreens would mean a lot considering how bad summers are going to be. 🙂

      *Love*

    1. HD, trust me I wouldn’t be surpised if you start your own blog. I have seen so many Indian women starting their blog after visiting here. Some of them even gave a credit to me. 😛 It feels great to hear all this. 🙂 And I am super glad that this kind of awarenss is generating among women. Why waste your money on buying rubbish stuff. Isn’t it? 🙂

Lucky you about the lip blam thingy. 😛

I will put the video may be next week. This week is pretty hectic. 🙂 I

      1. I am still in double minds abt my blog…

I so agree with you that we shud not be wasting our money on rubbish products and I am glad that I am able to help my friends too take the right decision and save alot of money 😉

        will wait for your video!!!

            1. oh i thought you’re talking about elf opening in delhi coz rati, you said you’re going to visit shops soon. 🙂 my father is going to be in bombay on 15th for a couple of days but sadly i won’t accompany him. grr. will definitely make a trip after april. it’s loong overdue. you guys back in bombay will have to take me around to get my makeup! and a trip together sounds great, but it will involve a lot of coordinating, take time off together, accommodation blah blah. would be great if it was possible!

  7. I was wondering if we have got Elf in Delhi as well. That’s why said would check it out. 🙂 It would be so much fun to meet an dall. 😛 I am meeting one of the bloggers this week. Both excited and nervous. Let’s see how it goes. 🙂

  8. I don’t think we have this brand in Aus but I gotta say I love the look & style of these lipsticks. & that’s great they’re so pigmented. In your swatches the colours look so rich!!

    1. The colours are actually pigmented and rich. For a complexion like you these would look gorgeous. In fact, I have no complains with the quality as well.

This is a local brand in India and is pretty famous for its sunscreens. Now they have combined their sunscreen technology and makeup skills all in one. So goody good for us. 🙂
