My review:
Why should you buy Lotus Herbals Botanical Compact?
- Has SPF-15
- This is one of the most beautiful and most thoughtfully designed compact I have so far come across. 1) It has a huge good quality mirror- I can do my complete makeup with this mirror. 2) The compact powder has a transparent plastic cover- this keeps the powder protected. 3) There is a separate section for sponge and powder. 4) A press button to open the compact so at no time you have to worry about powder-mess in your bag. Commendable!
- The powder is silky. No chalkiness.
- No strong perfumes. The fragrance is very light and pleasant.
- Comes with a good quality sponge.
- Excellent setting and blotting powder.
- Has a perrty lotus flower engraved on the powder. lol!!
I am using the Natural Beige almost every day these days and I have not faced any issues with it yet. No break outs, no pore clogging. Although I don’t have huge pores but i end up facing problems with powders that accentuate my tiny pores as well. 🙁 This one doesn’t. 😛 These days I am taking break from the liquid foundation so I just dab a little concealer and set my face with this powder. And it completes my base routine.
I even showed it a makeup artist and she was impressed. Gifting one of these to her. 😛

Why should you NOT buy Lotus Herbals Botanical Compact?
I think more shade selection should be considered. I personally feel that this is one product that could rule the purses of Indian women but with only three shades to select from, a lot of women would choose other brand over this.

Note : The products shown in this entry were sent to me by company for consideration.
I am awed by the packaging..really good.
And thank you so much for putting up the retailer details.
I think I will try in my nearest H&G outlet…
Rati, you are such a sweetheart :-)..lovely review of Lotus products.
I hope the concealer and tinted moisturiser review is also on the way.
Thank you Poornima. I just placed request from you guys to them and they have only sent the listing. The credit goes to them. 🙂
Honestly, I would hve not done the review if the quality was not good. It puts a question on my credibility as well. I think these guys hold a potential to do a lot of good work. May be some more marketing could help.
Would ask if they could send me the concelaer and tinted moisturser as well. Out of the two upcoming reviews one product is bought by me. So let’s see. 🙂
can u write a review on translucent powder brabds. i wish 2 get 1 but don’t know which 1 is good.thx
i have lotus herbal concealor.it says it moisturizes too & it can be used as foundation too.though never used it as foundation bcoz it a shade darker than my skin tone but it conceals dark circles efficiently i never had any prob with it. but i wish 2 try oriflame concealors bcoz they contain tea tree oil.thx
U got oily skin?
no i have a dry skin but prone to pimples
I swear by the Body Shop Loose powder. Love love love it. I wear it almost every single day. 😛 I has completely taken over my foundation. I apply concealer and then dust loose powder all over my face. Follow up with a peachy toned blush (Cinnabar, just earth, etc. from color bar) apply a lippy and I am done.
If you have very fair complexion, you may go for Lakme Rose powder. It has pink undertones. 🙂
And yes..its so generous of them to provide the big mirror rather than those teeny tiny ones 😀
I know those tiny mirros are so irritating. 😀
u have something else! pls keep them coming 🙂 i agree with the mirror part, but i dont think i have my shade in this! I wish they widen their spectrum! thanq, sexy 🙂
I do Divija. 🙂 Yes shade specrtum needs to be widened. Hope they consider our request. 🙂
I will like to try this one out.
Can you tell which shade will suit me ?? I think I’ll be goin for nude , wotsay ??
Palak, I also think Nude would suit you the best. 🙂
Amazing and beautiful 🙂
Thanks , Pooja. 🙂
The packaging is really good 🙂 Sleek & pretty..
They have a tinted moisturizer? now u got my attention.. Is a review coming up for tht? 😀
The review for tinted moisturiser should come next week, I hope. 😛
I found packaging useful above everything else. 🙂
oohhh looks interesting ..
Am gonna add this to my list 😛
I noticed you have the list of outlets in Bangalore…Thanks a ton 🙂
As usual ur ever helpful!!!
P.S Un related question..but would you know which brand sells nude eyeliners in India?
Most welcome Rakhi. The product is good, you may give it a try. :
Chambor and Beyu cosmetics have a nude eyeliner available.
And thank you. 🙂
hey the packaging is soo different from the normal compacts….n the huge mirror sure helps….I kinda found the price on the higher side compared to other compacts 😉
HD, I think the price is high because of packagaing and all the “goodness of nature and science ” they are offering. 😛
I thght tht was Fiama Diwills tag line… 😛
lol!! it is. That was the first thing that came to my mind. 😀
LOL!!! I did check out this at the store today….It really is a very comfortable mirror to work with!! loved the nail paints too but as I told you, will buy whn I resolve my nail problem
OMG!! you are becoming a makeup freak. Is this good or bad? 😛 Had a veryyy long day today. will reply to your mail tomorrow for sure. 🙂
excellent! i love how long it is. now don’t think i am talking dirty! love the colour of the packaging too. i have a similar eyeshadow and it looks great when smoked out. ok now coming back to the topic, i just loove carrying compacts. i’ve used all of lakme’s and the triple act from colorbar and my current one is the white stay uv from maybelline coz it was so damn cheap at 150 bucks. i’ve never used a “makeup” item from lotus. can you believe that?? i’ll start off with that nudey lipstick (i’m forgetting its name now).
can you convey a message to mr. lotus? please, please tell him to keep the lotus website updated! and would it not be wonderful if the prices were mentioned? i hope he considers our request! we’re his feedback!
Oh no!! i only think straight. No dirty thinking. 😛 No I am not surprised that you didn’t know about Lotus makeup. i myself didn’t know about it until they introduced me to it. It’s name is Bubbly Nude. Wore it today again and going to wear it again and again. 😛
Mr Lotus?? lol!! He wouldn’t have thought he would be called Mr. Lotus one day. 😛 I will convey this for sure. 🙂 And they DO read the comments . I hope they consider all this. 🙂
of course i knew about lotus makeup! i just said that i haven’t used any of it till now. just used their lip balm and sunscreen.
and nail polish, how could i forget!
oh!! I just knew about their sunscreens and lipbalms. Have used both the products religiously for years. 😛
Lotus offers “Strength of Purity” and “glamour enriched by nature”
Indeed, Pooja. 🙂
Beautiful and thats so helpful to provide us the list of the outlets!
Most welcome Rachna and thank you. 🙂
I like the ingredients they use in it…n yeah, the packaging is very cute. They really should come up with more shades
♥XX♥
I know Cynthia. Three shades are not enough especially when companies like colourbar are already offering more than 3 shades in Indian market. Me too love the packaging. 🙂
Looks like a cool product rati, have to add it to my Indian wishlist as well
I am a fan of Lotus products.. I have been using body care products. Was looking for a good compact and here is what i am buying as per rati advice. I have become addcited to IMBB so much that nowadays before i buy any products i see the review @ IMBB and then only go ahead.. Hatts of to Rati and Sanjeev for having such a Blog and helping all of us…
