5 Easy Ways to Get Glowing Skin without Fancy Treatments

By Drishti Kumar

Hello buttercups,

Clear and flawless skin is everyone’s dream, be it guys or girls. No one likes scars, marks, zits or pimples on their face. Depending on different skin types, age factor and regional differences different people need to do different things to help their skin revive and maintain its natural pink glow. For example, dry skin needs to be moisturised lavishly and the body of such a person needs to be hydrated frequently in order to keep the skin in a good condition. Whereas, girls with oily skin should tone their skin regularly to keep the pores closed. Just like this, different people need to do and opt for different methods in order to maintain their skin and complexion. However today, I am going to list down some basic things that work for all skin types and skin tones. So without wasting anymore time let’s hop on to the article.

Drink plenty of water

75 percent of our body is made up of water. So to maintain the elasticity of the skin, drinking at least 3 litres of water is essential for a healthy adult. Water cleanses the body from within and helps in flushing out the waste and toxins out. In case, you find plain water too boring you can try infusing it with fruits or flavoured leaves like basil. There are many recipes available on IMBB for infused water, do check them out.

Exfoliation

Most girls follow the rule of cleansing, toning and moisturising religiously, but exfoliation often takes a back seat in their skin-care regimen. However, exfoliation is as important as toning and moisturising because it helps the outer layer of our skin to get rid of its old dead cells. If you think that your skin is too sensitive and reacts to the harsh exfoliators available in the market, try a simple paste of gram flour, lentil powder and orange peels mixed in some yoghurt. Massage it for 2-3 minutes on wet skin. This paste will make your skin glow from within and also remove skin tan.

Regular workouts

Regular workouts are necessary not only to keep your body fit but also to keep your skin healthy and glowing. Activities like cycling, running and brisk walking increase the blood flow throughout the body and more oxygen flow through the skin cells. This process helps in neutralising the harmful effects of free radicals and oxidative stress.

Get high on Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an ultimate saviour for dull, dry and ageing skin. It helps in enhancing the complexion and preventing the signs of skin ageing. Regular intake of fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C enhances skin brightness and helps the skin revive its beauty. Some of the foods rich in vitamin C are lemon, orange, goose berries and broccoli.

A little fat is good for you

Our skin needs some amount of fat in order to maintain its elasticity and stay hydrated. Foods like avocados supply skin with the adequate amount of fat that it needs to keep healthy and glowing. And, this healthy fat won’t cause breakouts or acne. Even if you do not want to eat avocados directly, grind it and mix it with honey to make a face mask. Apply it to your face for ten to fifteen minutes and enjoy a refreshed face and supple skin thereafter.

That’s all for today, sweethearts! Hope you found this useful. 
