Hi everyone 🙂

This is my third post on nail paints, and by now it is evident that I am much of a nail paint hoarder 😀 . So recently I got over my ‘nail paint break’ phase, on behalf of that I shopped from new shades. These have been a hit among the masses and have fared excellently.

Price:
75 INR for 6ml (they have been hiked to 85 recently)
85 INR for Bright Sparks range
125 INR for Glitter Mania range
Shades:
- 004 Berry Sexy
- 009 Chrome Pink
- 103 Moon Beam
- 604 Red Carpet (Glitter Mania)
- 702 Molten Maroon (Bright Sparks)
My Take on 5 Maybelline Color Show Nail Paints:
The packaging is spot-on attractive, with cute cylindrical bottles. The shades are quirky and they also have codes, both of them which are engraved on the top of the cap. The brush is superb, mildly flay but just enough to fan out perfectly on the nails. I give full marks for the packaging.
Pigmentation is also very great considering they do not have shimmer. Among the shades I’ve picked, Moon Beam is the least pigmented and Berry Sexy is highly pigmented. The Glitter Mania paints are awesome on their part, and they are well pigmented too. I did not understand the concept of ‘Bright Sparks’ as they appear just like the other shades in the normal Color Show range, so I just picked up one.
They last for about 4 whole days without chipping except on my index finger that lasts about 2 days. It dries quickly too.
004 Berry Sexy
This is a beautiful deep berry-pink color that has purple tones to it. It has deep pink shimmer in it and it will suit most skin tones. It is well pigmented, but I felt it is sheer for such a bold shade. It goes opaque in two coats.
009 Chrome Pink
This is a very tricky shade in my stash. The picture does not do any justice to the shade at all; I tried a zillion ways to capture the shade in all sorts of lights and positions only to be disappointed with the result. This is a duo chrome shade, with coral and pink hints. In actual, it looks so much pinker on my nails and it appears to be shockingly coral in the pictures. I have attached the swatches in two different lightings for better judgment. This shade is not too pigmented.
103 Moon Beam
This is apparently my least favorite shade among the lot. I sort of loved it when I bought it, which was ages ago and did not like it when I wore it. This is a silvery white shade that looks very subtle; from an angle it looks almost invisible 😀 . Surprisingly it does not go streaky, and will be opaque in two coats.
604 Red Carpet
I have about three shades from the Glitter Mania range, and this shade is my beloved sister’s choice. This is a subtle red with golden shimmer in it. The presence of the gold particles mutes the boldness of the red and that is what I like about this. The texture is sandy and it feels really good to keep touching my nails 😀 . Only issue with this is to get them off, it is too much of a hassle especially considering my laziness. 😛
702 Molten Maroon
This shade is my favorite among my recent buys. It is a deep wine shade that will be a hit for the winters. Though winters are long gone, I cannot stop wearing this. It makes my hands and feet look fairer than it already is 😀 . Two coats will give complete opacity as this is quite sheer. I convinced my sister to ‘model’ for me because she has cute nails, and with all her reluctance I managed to snap some pictures. 😛
