5 Revlon Nail Enamel Review

Revlon Nail Enamel – Flaming Matte, Marine Matte, Rosy Matte, Sunny Matte, Matte Top Coat Review

Hi my beauties,

I was super busy with Durga Puja for the last few days and I enjoyed a lot. Durga Puja is the best time for Bongs, and I got to enjoy a lot with my family and friends. We explored all the pandals and ate so much. So now, after one long week, I am back with the reviews. Today I am going to review five nail enamels by Revlon. Let’s get into the details.

Price: INR 190 for 8ml each

⦁ Formula coats nails in gorgeously smooth color.

My Experience with Revlon Nail Enamel – Flaming Matte, Marine Matte, Rosy Matte, Sunny Matte, Matte Top Coat:

These ‘matte’ nail enamels come in matte textured glass bottle with a black cap each. There is a nice print on the cap with the shade name on the top of the cap. The packaging looks nice and very cute. This range offers a normal brush applicator. I don’t like this brush as it is too thick to apply the color evenly on the nails. I need to swipe the color many times to make lighter shades appear perfect. Hence, the brush is quite difficult to work. Wish it were a little thicker in size.

I have picked up 5 shades from this range and I picked all funky and bright summery shades. Let’s talk about each shade individually.

Flaming Matte
It is my favourite shade from the collection and it is actually a very pretty coral-red shade that suits all skin tones.

Marine Matte
It is a gorgeous teal blue shade that absolutely looks fresh on my nails.

Rosy Matte
It is the cutest baby pink shade and I love such pinks on my nails.

Sunny Matte
It is a unique fresh bright yellow shade and it’s a perfect summery shade.

Matte Top Coat
It is a normal clear top coat that can change any glossy shade into a perfect matte shade. I think this is the most useful shade for me.

All the shades are very nice and colourful. I love such pretty summery shades but, unfortunately, all of these are not same in quality. For example, Flaming and Marine are quite well-pigmented and require only two coats. Rosy matte is decently pigmented but Sunny matte is not a great one. It is a poorly pigmented nail color that needs more coats to occupy my nails.

Texture and Quality:
The nail color has a medium-thick texture that glides easily on the nails but even application is quite difficult.

Rose and Sunny are two shades that are a little thick in texture. They become patchy on the nails and layering makes them heavy. They do not look smooth on the nails at all. Sunny looks really bad on my nails, but the shade Flaming and Marine are much better in quality. They look more even and smoother than the rest two shades. Still, I don’t like the texture that much. Also, the finish of these matte nail enamels is not perfect. These enamels have a very nice and velvety-matte texture that looks really gorgeous. I wish the quality of these nail polishes were better. I like that these are matte and come nicely packaged. The outermost layer of these enamels dry out fast yet I prefer to wait for around 10-15 mins so that even the innermost layers get proper time to dry.

Now, the matte top coat has a really nice texture and it glides smoothly and evenly on the nails. It never looks patchy and it takes just a few minutes to dry out completely. It is a perfect matte top coat that can change any glossy texture into a velvety matte texture. I love its finish and it looks so amazing on my nails. I use it over my most favorite glossy colors. If you do not prefer to buy a lot of matte nail polishes, you can easily use this and convert any glossy nail polish.

Staying Power:
These nail colors stay on my nails for long without any chipping. They look nice even after a week. But the matte texture loses its matte effect after 4 days and becomes a little shiny. Also, if you apply oily products on your nails then also these turn glossy. Overall, the matte effect stays well for 4-5 days. But after that, it does not look as gorgeous.

I like this matte concept. The matte top coat is my most favorite among these. The top coat works wonderfully on the nails, but I don’t like the texture of colored ones. They are patchy in texture that don’t glide evenly. I was expecting more from these matte nail enamels.
