5 Makeup Blunders a Teen Should Avoid
Being a teen myself, I have made an innumerable amount of makeup errors. Ah! How I wish I could reverse back the time!! Being a little more well versed with makeup now, I have lately i noticed a lot of makeup blunders made by teenagers who are just beginners in this enticing world of makeup!!! Some teens play around with makeup in an attempt to look beautiful & sexy (yes my sis who just turned 14 says she wants to look sexy wearing makeup!!) but unfortunately end up looking like clowns. If you are a teen, I would recommend you to follow these few essential makeup steps:-
Avoid Using a Lot of Products on your face
Honestly, you being a teen have the most youthful & fresh face. You really don’t want to spoil it by using a lot of products on your face. Go light with just a concealer (if you have major blemishes & dark circles to hide, otherwise don’t), a mineral powder & a blush. Don’t use foundations as it becomes quite heavy for your face, invest in a tinted moisturizer instead Avoid heavy makeup bases and let your fresh skin to glow through.
Avoid Using Dark Colors
While a dark smoky eye is alright for your farewell, prom or homecoming dance, it definitely is not alright to use it for normal wear. You are at such an age where bright & vibrant colors will suit your face more than a dark look. I have seen teens who wear dark eye & lip makeup and then end up looking like a goth and in some worse cases like a vamp!! You honestly don’t want to age wearing dark colors & then wishing you could try bright ones when they might probably not suit you as much as they would suit you now as a teen. My suggestion: – Have fun wearing stuff like stuff like a neon color eyeshadow & glittery pink lip gloss because at this age you can definitely rock the look!!
For certain products avoid cheap drugstore brands
I know most of you teens having a low budget won’t agree with me but it’s right atleast for face products like concealer & mineral powder I would recommend you to use a high branded company. There are no testers available for 90% of drugstore brands, so you most probably will end up buying a packaged product. If you are a first time user of a particular brand you would want to test it on your face for the whole day to see that it does not dry up on your skin or end up giving you any allergic reactions. It’s beneficial to invest in a good quality product from this age as it will give you a good skin thus not requiring you to use a lot of products later on.
Avoid using highly chemical products
If being a teen you use makeup daily, i would recommend you to use organic cosmetics as usage of constant chemicals
on the skin again increases the chances of deteriorating the quality of your skin. Just rummage through your kitchen counters and shelves, you will be amazed to find the best skin care products are available right in your house at the mot minimal costs !!
Avoid Sleeping with Makeup
This is the most important blunder to avoid at all costs. Teens being makeup beginners are most likely to make this mistake. Sleeping with makeup on can lead to premature aging, excess dehydration/dryness, and irritation. Not to mention, it’s a huge no-no for anyone who does not want to worsen their chances of breaking out. Not removing eye makeup is even worse as it can easily cause infections due to makeup falling into your eye, can cause dryness and thinning of your eyelashes. A request to all you teens (even non teens for that matter) no matter how sleepy or busy you get studying whole night, please don’t forget to remove your makeup.
Hope this proves to be an informative post for most of you teens out there 🙂
