Curly or straight, black or brown – no matter what the hair type is, we love our hair and that’s why hair fall is a nightmare for us. Unfortunately, hair fall is a problem that we all have to face due to ageing, certain medications or weather effects. Thin hair is the outcome of severe or uncontrolled hair fall, and when ignored, can lead to baldness. Fortunately, there are several home remedies for thin hair that can make your hair thick and strong naturally. Here is a list of some easy remedies that you can try at home to make your hair stronger than ever.
1. Apple cider vinegar:
We are all aware of the benefits of apple cider vinegar for skincare. Apparently, it is equally advantageous for thin hair. Mix 70-80 ml of apple cider vinegar with one litre of water to make a solution. Now, whenever you wash your hair, rinse your hair with a cup of this solution after washing off the shampoo.
2. Onion juice:
I must say, it is the easiest remedy for attaining healthy and gorgeous hair. Take an onion and blend it after peeling and chopping. Now, squeeze the juice out of this blend and apply it on your scalp. Let it stay on your hair for at least 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with a shampoo. You can do this twice in a week to get effective results in 2-3 months.
3. Potato juice:
The preparation and application of potato juice are exactly similar to that of onion juice. You just have to peel it, chop it, blend it and squeeze the juice. You can keep it on your scalp for at least 15 minutes and then wash it off with a suitable shampoo. Nutrients present in potato are also effective for severe hair thinning, which is also known as alopecia.
4. Green tea:
Surprisingly, a cup of warm green tea can be a saviour for thin hair. You can apply it on your scalp like an oil and then leave it for at least an hour. After that, rinse your hair with cold water. This method can show you noticeable results probably in the first three months itself.
Popularly known as Indian gooseberry, amla has always been an effective remedy for hair fall. Take 2 teaspoons of amla juice and add some lime juice to it. The quantity of lime juice should be equal to that of amla juice. You can also use amla powder instead of the juice. After mixing it well, apply the mixture on your scalp. Once it dries, you can wash it off.
Take 2 cloves of garlic and crush them. Now, boil the crushed garlic in coconut/olive oil. Let the mixture cool and then apply it on your scalp. Keep it for few minutes and then wash it off. Make sure that you wash your hair properly so that the smell doesn’t stay in your hair.
7. Essential Oils:
Let’s accept this, girls! Essential oils are actually very ‘essential’ for our skin and hair care. These oils have selective elements that can effectually treat our hair and skin. You can either use castor oil, jojoba oil, olive oil and argon oil individually or try the mixture of these oils. In fact, hair professionals recommend that hot oil treatment with any of these essential oils can do wonders for the scalp.
These home remedies are quite easy to follow as all these ingredients are available right in your kitchen. In addition to trying these home remedies, you can also make some modifications to your meal plan. There are no harsh changes, and you just need to include protein rich food in your diet along with fruits and vegetables that contain vitamins A, B, C and E.
