Lemonade or the good ol’ Shikanji is a staple drink in almost every Indian household. There are so many variations out there of that simple and plain lemonade. Let’s find out how you can spruce up the lemonade with different herbs and fruits.
1. Basil Lemonade:
This is refreshing lemonade which awakens the senses in no time. Just boil basil leaves with water and strain it. Use this water to make your lemonade as usual with after the water gets to a room temperature.
2. Raspberry Lemonade:
The tartness of the lemons can easily be balanced by the sweetness of raspberries in this lemonade. You need to blend raspberries, lime juice, sugar, and salt in a blender. Strain through a fine mesh. Add water and serve with ice on top.
3. Watermelon Lemonade:
You will need to use very less water in this recipe as watermelon juice will fill up most of the liquid quantity. Take watermelon, lime juice and sugar in a blender and blend them. Strain through a fine mesh and add little water to it.
4. Strawberry Basil Lemonade:
Strawberries and basil give great flavour to the boring lemonade recipe and taste divine together. You need to use basil infused water for this lemonade. Blend strawberries and sugar together. Strain them. Mix basil infused water and blended mixture. Add 1 tbsp lime juice to it. Add water in the end and top it off with ice.
5. Ginger Lemonade:
Lemon and ginger together have a lot of great health benefits. Just use a grated ginger and boil it with water. Add sugar. Strain the mixture. Add lemon juice after it cools down.
6. Cucumber-Basil Lemonade with Lemongrass:
Combine cucumbers, lemongrass, basil, lemon juice, sugar and salt in a blender and blend them. Strain through a fine mesh strainer. Add cold water and whisk to combine. Serve chilled.
7. Orange Lemonade:
This is great way to refresh yourself up after a tiring day. Make sugar syrup. Let it cool. Add 1 cup of orange juice and 1 tbsp of lemon juice to it. Now you can add water and ice.
