7 Summer Nail Enamel Shades
In order to get the green nail enamel I am wearing on my nails, I belofied a lot of papad. I just had to get a green colored nail enamel and could not find colorbar around to get the beautiful greens they have. In my quest for the greens, I ended up picking a lot of out-of-my-comfort-zone nail enamels. Here are some of the few crème nail paints that I bought for this summer. Let me know if I should use them or keep them for my daughters drawing classes in the future.
About eyetex: Eyetex is a Chennai brand easily available here. If you did not blink your eye during breaks in-between your movies, you would have watched an ad or two of this brand on very ltd TV channels.
About the nail enamels: Eyetex has four categories in the nail section, dual, metallic, glitter and true colours. The most I have seen around are the nail glitters priced at just Rs 30. The bottle is extremely old fashioned with a beige golden cap and above average brush. I did not expect much but the colours and the cream finish and the long lasting nature of these nail enamels surprised me. They dried up in two minutes flat contrary to my Avon speed dry cream nail enamel which took ages to dry. Eyetex went a little streaky in the first coat but by the third coat (which I normally put) the finish was super and perfect. The green lasted me a week without touch ups. Apart from the packaging and the availability factor, I think eyetex dazller is worth experimenting with if u want to venture into strange colours like I did. Ignore the bottle shape n cap.
Black: Eyetex dazller nail glitter DBK 1:
Everyone talks about how they love wearing black n how black nail enamel is a must have.lakme came out with a black and also a blue in one of their latest collections, but I did not want to spend 90+ rupees on colour I would not wear often. I saw eyetex dazller in of the nearby stores n thought it was easy on the pocket. just for rs 30 each, I picked up four eyetex dazllers nail glitter (I have no idea y they named it so) I also wanted this black as a base for many of glitter nail which would just not show up without three coats.this particular black’ three coats lasted me three days without chipping n the fourth day I could see the tips chipped a lil specially on my right fingernails.im happy with the purchase though I would take time to warm up to blacks on my nails.
Greens: Eyetex dazller nail glitter DG8 and DG6 (the yellower one of the two):
I saw a couple of greens there including these two and also dark green.on second thoughts, I should have picked up a light green and another darker one! Never mind that. The day I used these green ones was a memorable day for me as it was filled with “oh what the hell is that on your nails”looks by my husband n the only thing my five month old daughter noticed that day were my nails.:( I am not going to give up using greens…though that would need a lot of courage.three coats lasted me for week. Dries up fast as well,I recommend it to college goers, not for me!
Eyetex dazller nail glitter DG4: This nail enamel is a sparkling greenish blue. I never had a similar color so was scared of wearing it so I got the cheaper one. It does look lovely for an evening out!
Elle 18 color bombs nail pos: 04
Out of the entire tray full of nail pops, this nail paint was calling out to me!
The other colors were just reds and maroon’s and glittery reds. Few whites n pearls n a couple matte pinks and a golden yellow. That was all I could see. I got the purple matte one. This matte purple looks amazing. This one is quite in my comfort zone!
Avon French tip lilac: This one comes in the French manicure kit by Avon. I realized I have no use of this one as a nail tip as my French manicures are a disaster more often than not. I ended up using the lilac one as nail enamel for all over nails. It looks just beautiful. Three coats give a superb matte finish. They would chip in two days on hands. Lasted me a week on toenails.
Avon nail wear pro nail enamel: Summer peach:
This color is everywhere I see. From Rati to you tube gurus, all are sporting this color for the summers. Although I got this color long back, thinking it was a glossy coral from the brochure, it turned to be matte. Love it now but it takes ages to dry and goes on streaky. Need three coats for a perfect opaque finish. This one chips in three days on hands. This color can make my hands look darker than they are. But the color is worth a try.
Faces: ultramarine blue 04: I have never worn blues on my fingernails. This one turned out to be quite pathetic as it’s quite watery to be matte blue nail enamel. It goes on streaky and takes ages to dry. I need almost four coats to make it look like what it is in the bottle on my nails. Horrible quality for Rs 99. Lasted me a week perfectly on toenails. I tired matching it with my denims.
I am taking my time warming up to these colors. Which one did you like?

Of the entire lot, I liked the Elle 18 purple color.
Currently, I have painted my nails black with the VoV black nail paint. I got it for Rs.15 (would you believe that?) :yahoo: It is super shiny and glossy with just 2 coats.
