Hello, girls!
Hope you all are doing well in your life. I have always loved to pamper my hair. My hair isn’t just a body part but also the centre of attention. Everyone likes to invest in different treatments and products when it comes to hair care. But, did you know that what you put inside your body matters more? Previously, I had written about “8 Foods You should Eat for Healthy Hair” and today I am going to list down “7 Worst Foods for Your Hair”. So pay heed and maintain your hair’s good health.
7 Worst Foods for Your Hair

1. Sugar

sugar laden foods
Sugar is not good for your hair. Sugar messes up with protein absorption and you all know that hair is made up of proteins. You just need to take lesser sugar and there’s no need to fully stop having it. If you like sugar, then add some fruits into your diet as they are excellent source of sugar and also nourish your body.

2. Alcohol

Alcohol has become a rage these days. Alcohol is good for digestion if you take it in controlled amount. But, if you are habitual of alcohol or are addicted to it, this can cause a reduction of the zinc level in your body. Now, zinc is the most important mineral that plays a vital role in your hair growth. Once, your zinc levels goes down, your hair growth stops and hair fall might start.

3. Starchy food

starchy food
Foods that contain starch, like bread, pasta, and cakes, break down sugar and cause thinning of hair. So, it is okay to have such foods only in moderation.

4. Diet soda

The artificial sweetners that are present in your diet soda, like aspartame, are not good for the quality and quantity of your hair. Such sweeteners are responsible for hair loss and hair fall. You can allow yourself for some natural healthy drinks to stay hydrated. Staying absolutely away from such drinks will keep your hair healthy and shiny.

5. Fish

Some fish contain large amounts of mercury and this high quantity of mercury can lead to hair loss. Swordfish and mackerel contain high quantity of mercury. So, if you are a fish lover, ditch these fish and switch to tuna, salmon, and shrimps. Seafood is very good for your hair.

6. Vitamin A

Vitamin A can be one of the reasons behind your hair loss, but I am not talking about normal Vitamin A in your diet. I am talking about Vitamin A in ultra high doses. So before taking Vitamin A supplement, make sure you consult your doctor well and if you are facing hair issues, consider reducing the amount of Vitamin A in your diet.

7. Salt

salt
High blood pressure, diabetes or chronic kidney disease – think only these are the side effects of taking excess amounts of salt? No! Your hair can get badly impacted by salt too. So, sprinkle salt with caution on your food and always opt for low sodium and low salt options while dining out.
