8 Medical Conditions that could Lead to Hair Loss and Hair Thinning

Hello, everyone.

Since I have recently shifted from India, I am facing a major hair fall issue. So I am spending a lot of time researching and looking for ways to control this severe hair fall. But did you know hair fall isn’t induced just by change in weather or hair products? There are certain medical conditions that can lead to hair fall, hair loss and then thinning of hair.

Anaemia

Firstly, I underwent a test for anaemia. Although no one in the family has ever suffered from anaemia, still I wanted to clear all my doubts. I was not only facing hairfall but also weakness after shifting to Dubai. But thankfully, I am not suffering from anemia. Still I would suggest you all to take this test. Start taking a healthy, iron-rich diet if you’re diagnosed with it.

Genetics

Genetic hair loss is one of the most common causes of receding hairline and baldness. It might not be your fault. If you think you have a proper hair care routine with a protein rich diet than maybe your hair fall is not because of you, but because of your family. If this is the case, you need to go to a hair loss specialist so that the extent of hair loss can be determined to find an accurate plan of action.

Stress

This is the most common cause of hair loss and is well-known by all of us. This point is mentioned everywhere as almost 90% hair problems begin with stress. We might have a lot of troubles going on in our life but stress won’t solve them. To know whether your hair fall is due to stress, you need to check whether you’re facing hair fall only at the time of shampooing or styling your hair. If yes then the culprit is stress. So stop stressing and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Wrong vitamins

An adult woman needs 46 gms of protein in a day which most of us exceed due to improper knowledge of protein rich foods. Many of us exceed the requirement of Vitamin A and take limited Vitamin D, which does not really help with hair growth. Meet a dietician and take a very healthy and nourishing diet.

Scalp problem

There are times when we start facing the issues of itchy scalp and irritation for no reason. These are the signs of an unhealthy scalp. You might start getting issues like dandruff, redness and fungal infections. In such cases, use a mild shampoo and do not shampoo your hair every single day. Also, go for neem and tulsi hair rinse to cure these issues. Keeping your combs and styling tools clean is another great option. See a specialist if the problem persists.

Menopause

If you are woman above 35-40 then probably it is the time for your menopause and this is the only reason you are facing hair thinning. Around 40% of your hair loss is due to the hormonal changes occurring in your body and will unfortunately continue. Still, start taking good care of your diet and health and things will come back to normal in no time.

Autoimmune diseases

You might or might not have heard about these autoimmune diseases but these are really happening to most of the women in their 20s and 30s. In these diseases, the body acts differently to the products of our own body. Our body has an inappropriate response to the things present in our body. Alopecia and lupus are two of the most common autoimmune diseases and they require proper attention.

Thyroid

Around 60% of the Indian women face this issue in their life. And unfortunately, this disease comes with a lot of problems like weight gain, hair fall, baldness, skin problems, menstrual changes, mood swings and much more. What you need to do is get a thyroid test done every year to stay updated. If you have a thyroid issue, pay a lot of attention towards your diet.
