September marks the transition between summer to the fall season, we have to say goodbye to our shorts and sandals and say hello to jumpers and boots! But who says this change needs to be a boring one, make it totally exciting with these staples in your closet for a fun and stylish fall look.
1. Sleeveless Biker Jacket:
Give your conventional leather jacket a twist this fall, opt for a sleeveless leather biker jacket to add a subtle rocker chic look with the help of this piece. Pair it with distressed jeans and a vibrant full sleeve t-shirt or pair it with a feminine dress and booties to achieve a great effortless fashionable balance.
2. A Neutral Mid length Skirt:
Don’t say bye yet to your skirts, incorporate your mid length pencil skirts into your Fall wardrobe. Choose a neutral colour, lean towards shades of taupes and browns or if you feel a bit more colour, go for mustard or wine red colours. Pair them with a casual white tee, drape a black leather jacket and slip on a sexy pair of heels and you are good to go.
Plaids in my opinion, symbolizes September and the season of Fall. So, no fall style staples can be complete without the addition of plaid or checks. You can wear plaid trousers, or wear them on your shirt or as the ever so famous plaid skirt (reminds me of school). Incorporate them in your fall outfit without fail to achieve the comfy yet polished look. How does it do it?
4. Over the Knee Boots:
Everyone in London is wearing these! I will admit, I never considered them to look great, but with the new designs in stores, I have finally caved in and bought myself these too. Boots are a necessity in cold cities and you could look absolutely chic with these over the knee boots. Wear them with dark coloured leggings or jeans with a slouchy top and a jacket or dress it up and wear a loose fitted dress shirt and black jeans for a cosy dinner.
5. Printed Dresses:
I love wearing printed dresses, they are my go to piece of clothing when I don’t want to experiment with anything and yet look put together. Try leaning towards mid length printed dresses for fall and pair them with nude heels to look sophisticated and classy. You can even wear short skater printed dresses with tights and flats or heels depending on your mood.
6. Cropped Sweaters:
Why must we only keep cropped tops for the summer? Invest in some cropped sweaters for this autumn for an effortless chic look. I personally love cropped turtle neck sweaters, since they seem so cosy. Pick classic colours so you can use them for layering, try a warm lilac or a taupe for a sung look. I love to layer them with high waisted skirts and tights or with a dress and cute biker boots.
7. Biker Boots:
According to me, a pair of biker boots are so essential for a complete wardrobe. They can be paired with feminine skater dresses, or slipped on with a pair of jeans for a casual look. They keep your feet warm, are rugged enough to go through troublesome weather and yet look completely chic and are so fashionable.
8. Coloured Leather skirts:
I love how trendsetting leather skirts have become, and they’re so perfect for the fall season. And why just wear it in plain black? Try forest greens, taupes and red for your leather skirt instead of following the norm. Stay ahead of the game and stylish by pairing these with casual t-shirts and a statement neckpiece or wear them with button down shirts and tights to look your glamorous self.
Invest in these key pieces and try experimenting with them to achieve different looks each day effortlessly and let me know about your favourite piece of clothing for fall!
