Hi ladies,
Did you know our liver performs over 400 functions in our body! A liver is the most essential part of our body. Due to environmental issues, stress and bad eating habits, our liver tends to get overworked and overloaded. If that happens, then it is time to detox the liver and cleanse our body of toxins. In today’s post, let’s find out ways to do that.

Signs you need to detox your liver
• Headache over the eyes
• Sluggish or tired all the time
• Pain under right side of rib cage
• Stomach upset by greasy foods
• Skin discoloration
• Easily hung over
• Become sick or easily intoxicated if drinking wine

Ways to Detox the liver
Lemon juice contains very high amounts of vitamin C which helps to stimulate the liver and push the toxins out of the body. Have a glass of lukewarm water in the morning with a freshly squeezed lemon juice. This will cleanse your stomach of harmful toxins and will also aid in weight loss too.
2. Garlic
It may not help with the fresh breath but will definitely help to detox your liver. Garlic has high amounts of allicin and selenium which are liver cleansing agents and help to activate liver enzymes that help your body flush out toxins.
3. Leafy green vegetables
Green vegetables are good for so many things and detoxing your liver and body is just one of them. Leafy green vegetables increase the creation and flow of bile in the liver which is the substance that removes waste from the organs and blood. Try to incorporate spinach, broccoli, cabbage and dandelion root tea in your diet.
4. Non-inflammatory proteins
Non-inflammatory proteins like eggs, fish, and dairy products like milk and cheese are great to detox your liver. The body needs a balance of amino acids which are the building blocks of protein and that can be achieved by eating the whole animal or eating the products we get by animals.
They both are extremely high in plant-flavonoids and beta-carotene which can improve overall liver function. If you feel lethargic all the time, then you must chew on some beets and carrots to detoxify your liver.
Healthy fats like almonds, coconut, walnuts, avocadoes and olive oil with seeds like hemp, chia, and flax can be incorporated in your diet which are all the best sources of good fat for your diet. Animal fats should be avoided as they can lead to clogging of arteries.
7. Apples
This chewy and juicy fruit is not only delicious but can also cleanses and releases toxins from the digestive tract. Apples are high in a component called pectin which makes it easier for the liver to handle the toxic load during the cleansing process.
8. Water
Water is essential and the most important part of any detox plan in the world. Stay hydrated. Try to drink as much water as you can on a daily basis to flush out excess toxins from the body. Try to include more fluids in your diet like water, coconut water, and detox teas like green tea.
