8 Ways to Remove Dark Patches From Nose and Cheeks

Hi ladies,
Dark patches on the face could be because of a lot of reasons like hyperpigmentation, melasma, hormonal imbalances, or even pregnancy. Let’s find out ways to cure them.

8 Ways to Remove Dark Patches From Nose and Cheeks

1. Exfoliation

If your dark patches are not quite old, then exfoliation might help in getting rid of them. Try to go for a mild exfoliator once a day specifically around the dark patches in a circular motion.

2. Use of ascorbic acid

Lemon juice
Ascorbic acid is present in significant amounts in lemon. You can squeeze the lemon juice onto a cotton ball, dab it on your skin and leave it on for 20 minutes. Do it once or twice a day to notice significant improvement in your dark patches. You can also make a paste of turmeric and lemon juice and apply on your dark patches. This will really help as both the ingredients are skin lightening agents.

3. Vitamin E rich foods

Vitamin-E-Rich-Foods
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and it helps your body to repair damaged cells. You can have foods like tofu, leafy vegetables, avocados or nuts. You can also go for vitamin-E capsules.

4. Papain

This is a natural exfoliator and papaya has it in abundance! Papaya also has large amounts of Vitamins C and E to treat skin discolouration. You can have this fruit directly or you can cut the papaya in little pieces and use it to rub on the dark patches effectively.

5. Folic acid

Foods rich in folic acid for health

Dark patches in pregnant women could be because of the deficiency of folic acid. You can have foods rich in folic acid like green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, beans, and whole grains.

6. Topical creams

Look for ingredients like hydroxyl acids, kojic acid, arbutin, and lactic acid in those over the counter creams for effective treatment of dark patches. Hydroquinone is also a very effective skin lightening agent and there are many creams available in the market that has less than 2% strength of hydroquinone in them, though you should use creams with hydroquinone only after a doctor’s prescription.

7. Retinoid creams

retinol creams
Retinoid is a form of Vitamin A. It speeds up the process of skin cell regeneration and replaces dead skin quickly. There are so many creams available in the market today that have retinoid in them as a key ingredient. You can use them and see what works for you.

8. Microdermabrasion

This is a medical procedure that is done by a certified dermatologist or aesthetician. This procedure is usually repeated once a month for effective decrease in appearance of dark patches. You need to have a talk with the doctor weighing pros and cons if your dark patches are chronic and nothing works on them.
