Today, I would be talking about a few hacks that can be done with matte lipsticks. Matte lipsticks have always been in trend and it looks so perfect on the lips. Matte lipsticks are fun to wear, thanks to its low maintenance attitude. All you need to do is just dab the lipstick on your lips and don’t worry about the rest. Well, because matte lipsticks are mostly used by a woman, I decided to come up with different hacks to follow while applying the lipstick.

1. Always Exfoliate your Lips:

You should always exfoliate your lips before applying a matte lipstick in order to avoid a cakey look. Matte lipsticks settle well on the lips like a canvas and hence, it is important to exfoliate your lips before applying it. Just take a small amount of your favourite scrub and exfoliate your lips with the help of your fingers.

2. Always Use a Lip Balm:

You should always use a Lip balm before applying a matte lipstick because it helps to hold your lipstick for a long time. Applying a lip balm before the lipstick will help in making your lips look completely matte. This will also keep your lips hydrated for a long period of time.

3. Use a Lip Liner:

Matte lipsticks are super pigmented; so, it is very important to use a lip liner for lining your lips properly. After lining your pout, use the liner to color in your lips about halfway before applying the lipstick. This method will prevent your lipstick from fading.

4. Use a Lip Primer:

If you observe carefully, you will understand that your lips aren’t made of a single pigment and hence, it is important to neutralise and then wear a lipstick. Coating the lips with a primer before applying the lip liner and lipstick can allow the color to come out as a beautiful and vibrant one.

5. Use Tissue Paper:

Always make use of a tissue paper while applying a matte lipstick on the lips. This allows the extra lipstick to come out. Removing the extra gloss from the lipstick can allow the lipstick to stay longer than the average staying time.

6. Apply Some Gloss:

In order to get the fresh and dewy look, apply some gloss on the lips and make sure you concentrate more on the middle part. Usually, gloss is applied on the center of the lips for a lesser bold look.

7. Use a Highlighter:

You should use a highlighter in the middle of the lips because matte lipsticks can generally make your lips look smaller. Highlighting the middle part of the lips adds an extra volume to your bottom lip, thereby, making your lips look attractive and subtle.

8. Reapply:

Once you have completed the whole process, reapply the lipstick and use a tissue paper to take out the extra lipstick. You should apply two to three layers of lipstick so, that it stays for longer period of time. This way, the lipstick looks vibrant and colorful.

In case you don’t have a gloss to add shine to your lipstick, you can make use of vaseline. Vaseline can help to add an extra gloss on your lips and if you are not able to remove the lipstick, you can use vaseline to take it out.
