A Complete In-Flight Beauty and Comfort Packing List

I love travelling! It is one of my greatest passions in life. The only thing I dread about traveling is the long flights. The limited leg space, dry air, monotony and cranky atmosphere just gets to me. There are some things that I have gathered over the years to ease my skin, body and mind in-flight. Here they are!

Moisturizer & Lip Balm

By far, the most important ones on the list! Whenever the environment is moisture-free (as with the air inside the cabin), the air draws moisture from the skin. It goes without saying that a moisturizer will keep those worries at bay.

A Water Based Face Spray

If the moisturizer is making you feel like an oil slick, a face spray is a great way to replenish the lost moisture and refresh your skin.

Nasal Spray

Just like the skin, our nostrils can get extremely dry too. A saline based nasal spray will keep your nostrils moist.

Antibacterial Face Wipes

Dry recycled air in planes is full of germs which combined with dehydration leads to breakouts by the end of your journey. Anti-bacterial wipes, wiped on mid-way through the journey soaks up any oil, dirt and kills the airborne bacteria.

Wisps or Mouthwash

The dry air can make your mouth extremely dry, causing bacteria to flourish and leading to bad breath. Brushing your teeth may not be possible with the unhygienic airplane sink water. Wisps are a handy option. They do not need water. If you cannot find them, a small bottle of mouthwash will save you too.

Inflatable Footrest

When you sit for a long time and you’re not moving, it decreases your circulation which, in turn, causes your legs to feel heavy and swell up. By raising your legs you can help reduce swelling & aid your circulation.

Flavoured Tea Bags

Say no to in-flight drinks. The caffeine in coffee and fizzy drinks can create a havoc on your body and skin. So, carry your own tea bags (chamomile or lavender or lemon or just about anything that you like) and just ask the flight attendants for some hot water.

Pillow and Earplugs

Bring neck pillows and ear plugs. Neck pillows can help you get some sleep without straining your neck and spine and ear plugs can cut off the cabin noise in addition to helping you maintain the ear pressure during takeoff and landing.

Eye Mask

A mask like Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask teamed with your regular sleep mask will not only keep the light off your eyes and help you relax, but will also work its magic as you sleep.

Sleep Sprays

If you still find it hard to fall asleep, a good sleep spray will calm your senses and help you sleep. There are many to choose from like This Works Deep Sleep Spray, TBS Deep Sleep Mist and Bath & Body Works Sleep Mist.

  1. My skin and hair are easily susceptible to dehydration. Even in a 45 min long flight, my skin gets super stretchy and hair become frizzy. Your list is really good. I don’t know anything about sleep sprays. :/

  2. Hi Anjana,
This post is a savior. I am going to travel tomorrow and was totally confused what to take. Inflatable foot rest!!Brilliant.. And I totally forgot about ear plugs. Adding it in my list.. Thank you
