Hoping everyone is all recharged after the weekend break. For me, it had been quite a long break from writing for IMBB :/ However, I am back (with a bang !) along with a review on one of my staple products in the beauty routine – face washes! I usually never stick to one brand for face washes until my skin does not react well to it. Thankfully, it has never happened as of yet! I guess my skin has got used to my wayward habits :p I picked up Acure’s Facial Cleansing Gel as the description mentioned about containing extracts of Chlorella – green algae 🙂

Acure Facial Cleansing Gel Superfruit + Chlorella Growth Factor Packaging:
The cleansing gel is packaged in a white plastic tube with orange swirls, which look very attractive. The tube has a white flip top cap to hold the contents securely. It is a travel friendly tube. It has a gel consistency with a very slight orange hue. It has a mild citrusy fragrance.

My Experience with Acure Facial Cleansing Gel Superfruit + Chlorella Growth Factor:

I have been using this face wash twice daily in my skin routine. I usually take a small blob of the cleansing gel. The gel foams very mildly. It is a very gentle cleansing gel. In the morning, it cleans very well without leaving behind any residue. However, when I use the cleansing gel in the evenings over my waterproof makeup, it does not work very well.

On my swatch, when I used the face wash over waterproof makeup, it did not completely remove it. Hence I use it in combination with my Clarisonic’s Mia or makeup remover.

The cleansing gel contains super-fruit blend of berries, pomegranate, chamomile and other fruits. These extracts claim to provide antioxidant benefits to the skin. It also contains plant stem cells and chlorella growth factor for new cell growth. However, the cleansing gel stays on the skin for very minimal time. Hence I am not sure how much beneficial it could be for the skin. I also did not notice any radiant effects on my skin except that it made my skin feel very renewed.

After using the cleansing gel, I did not find my skin extremely tight. The argan oil and olive oil present in the cleansing gel helped in preventing any dryness of my skin. It rinses away without leaving any residue behind. It makes my skin clean and fresh.

The cleansing gel has a mild citrusy fragrance, which is very uplifting. It is not an overpowering fragrance, which does not linger on the skin after cleansing. It is a good everyday use face wash especially given that it is paraben, silicon and phthalate free.

Cons of Acure Facial Cleansing Gel Superfruit + Chlorella Growth Factor:

• Does not remove waterproof makeup completely.
• Did not notice significant antioxidant benefits as the cleansing gel stays on the skin for very minimal time.
• Dry skin type would need moisturization after using the cleansing gel.

Would I Repurchase Acure Facial Cleansing Gel Superfruit + Chlorella Growth Factor?

I like using this cleansing gel, but it does not stand apart from the previous ones that I have used. Hence I would not buy this product again.
