Advanced Beauty Treatments

As all you ladies know, looking good is an art-form and any artist always needs the right tools for the job if they’re to paint the perfect picture. In today’s world we are inundated with beauty products promising us eternal youth, a wrinkle free face, the clearest complexion.

The sad fact is most of the standard products out there never live up to their hype, and fail to match our expectations regarding the results they should achieve. The dilemma us poor ladies face when we can’t seem to get the right tool for the right job is, do we settle for what we have to work with and make do? Or do we opt for the solve all scenario of surgery?

Some of you may not realise it, but there is a third choice available from companies such as MYA Cosmetic Surgery. There are a whole host of advanced beauty treatments out there which are a lot less invasive than surgery but a lot more effective than standard creams. Interested? Well read on and find out more.

Muscle Relaxants

Muscle Relaxant is a new name for an old friend – Botox. For more than ten years the purified protein that Muscle Relaxant contains has been used under the brand name Botox in clinical practice. The fact that Botox has been used for so long guarantees the safety of Muscle Relaxant when it comes to getting the results you crave.

How does it work? Simple! Muscle relaxants contain a uniquely prepared natural protein originating from bacteria. The muscles which cause dynamic lines such as frown lines are injected with a minute quantity of muscle relaxant, which prevents nerve signals reaching the muscle on a temporary basis, causing the muscle to relax. As the muscle does not pull and crease the skin, it has change to rest and heal. The wrinkles disappear, resulting in a softening of frown lines, the horizontal lines on your forehead and crow’s feet.

The good news is that the treatment only takes about ten minutes, the risks are low, and side effects, if they occur at all, manifest themselves in swelling or red patches and are usually very temporary.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure and cosmetic technique that exfoliates the outermost layer of the epidermis and removes all those annoying dead skin cells to leave you looking fresh faced and feeling wonderful. Microdermabrasion can reduce the appearance of superficial hyperpigmentation and photo-damage and diminish shallow acne scars, wrinkles, and fine lines. The really great news is that removal of the dead skin means skin care products are able to penetrate the skin up to 50% more effectively and make-up can now be applied like silk as opposed to slap.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers soften facial lines, diminish folds and grooves, and are perfect for lip augmentation. What are they? Dermal fillers are made from various materials. The most common one as hyaluronic acid which is a complex sugar found in almost all parts of our body, and is particularly safe and effective as a result.

Fillers derived from hyaluronic acid work for about eight months on average. The filler is given in a series of small injections by a qualified practitioner and the new fillers contain local anaesthetic. The area is then gently massaged and treatments should take no longer than 30 minutes to an hour.

The area may be a little sore and swollen for up to three days post treatment and the swelling can last up to one week in some people, but after that even the sun will have to wear shades when you’re out and about because you will look that radiant.
