Aesop Resolute Hydrating Body Balm Review

By Divya Menon

Hello beauties,

This is my first product from Aesop and my first review on IMBB, too. I had heard everyone raving about this brand, so my sister got me this body balm from Australia. Read on to know how it fared for me.

Price: AUS$39 for 4.1o. z or 120 ml
Product Description:
Richly emollient balm with a distinctive, spicy aroma, for most skin types.
Formulated with Wheat Germ and Sweet Almond oils and Shea Butter to hydrate skin and leave it smooth, supple and fragrant. An ideal complement to our Coriander Seed Body Cleanser.
How to Use:
For best results, apply to freshly cleansed skin. Massage desired amount from neck to toes, concentrating on dry areas such as elbows, knees and feet. Reapply throughout the day as necessary.

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Tocopherol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Phenoxyethanol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Coriandrum Sativum (Coriander) Seed Oil, Piper Nigrum (Black Pepper) Fruit Oil, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Oil, Disodium EDTA, Benzalkonium Chloride, Sodium Citrate, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Beta-Carotene, Linalool, d-Limonene, Geraniol. Contains nut oils.
Packaging:
The packaging is simple and uniform. It is lightweight and travel-friendly. This body balm comes in a greyish squeeze tube, similar to a toothpaste tube. This tube is a lot firmer than a toothpaste tube and is made of metal, though. It is easy to squeeze out the product. It may get a little difficult to take the product out once it is in its last stage. Well, will figure that once it reaches its end. 🙂

My Experience with Aesop Resolute Hydrating Body Balm:

This is a medium-thick cream which is yellow in colour. When I first read about the spice ingredients, I was sceptical to try it. Pepper for my skin? No way! That’s when I researched about the spices used and was amazed to know the beauty benefits of spices. This balm has a warm, peppery smell which isn’t overpowering. It lingers for a while, though. It glides on smoothly and the balm settles and gets absorbed quickly. I haven’t come across any cream or skin product which smells like this, but nothing to complain about.

This is one of the most nourishing and moisturising balms I have ever used. It is suitable for all skin types, but is an intense moisture booster for dry skinned beauties. It smoothes, softens and hydrates the skin like no one’s business. The effects last one whole day and skin looks healthy and nourished. I have used it as a body balm, foot cream and hand cream; trust me, it’s an all-in-one product. It also works well as a lip balm but I couldn’t stand the taste of the product.

Pros of Aesop Resolute Hydrating Body Balm:
