Hope you all are doing great and had fun during the festive season. Today, I am going to review something which is a must-have for oily skinned beauties and girls with acne issues. Astringents are stronger than toners and skin fresheners and are apt for oily skin. So, when I finished my last toner I decided to try an astringent this time as recently my skin has become oilier than before. Alba Botanica has natural ingredients with less harmful chemicals so I selected an astringent from them. How it worked for my skin, read on to find more.
Eradicate icky oil with this powerful, botanically effective, cooling astringent made with max strength 2% salicylic acid. It penetrates deep to help prevent zits before they start. Formulated with proven zit zapper Salicylic Acid (naturally derived from Willow Bark Extract), this oil dissolver unclogs pores for a visibly clearer complexion without over-irritation. Instantly, skin is super clean, without a trace of oil. In just 8 hours breakouts are reduced.* Over time scars and acne marks fade. 70% of testers saw clearer skin in just 7 days. Dermatologist tested, non-comedogenic.
My Experience with Alba Botanica Deep Clean Astringent:
I have had oily skin for a major part of my life till now and with age, it has started changing from oily to combination. But recently, it was turning oilier again and I was getting 1 or 2 zits also occasionally. Therefore, I switched from my toner to an astringent which also claimed to be working on acne . This clear astringent stings like any other astringent and it stings more on and around my nose where I have larger pores. It removes all traces of dirt and oil from the face and the cotton used to apply it is the proof for the same. I used this astringent on acne and as it claims, it did reduce the size of the acne in 24 hours. But it did not do anything for oil control. Just after a few hours of using this astringent, my face felt oily again. It also leaves a layer the on skin which does not feel heavy but the stickiness stays there for a few minutes. It has made my skin clear but after regular use, I noticed I was getting dry patches around the mouth. After that, I took a break from this astringent for some time and now I use it alternately with another toner. So I feel it’s good for oily to super oily skin, combination skin can use it on alternate days if acne is a concern but for dry skin it a ‘no’ from my side.
This has a strong lemony smell to it which fades after application. It comes in a transparent plastic bottle but there is no cap on top so one needs to be careful while taking the product on cotton wool. It has 100% vegetarian ingredients which is great news and its free of parabens, Phthalates and synthetic fragrance so even sensitive skin beauties will like it.
In totality, it is good for oily skin and girls fighting with acne will surely be able to reap more benefit out of this product. Based on my personal experience, I will not recommend this to girls with dry skin.
Pros of Alba Botanica Deep Clean Astringent:
• Reduces the acne size with one use itself.
• Clears skin off dirt and oil.
• Makes skin clear with regular use.

Cons of Alba Botanica Deep Clean Astringent:
• Leaves a slick layer on skin.
• Not suitable for dry skin.
• Big opening on the bottle makes it difficult to use and dispense.
• Does not control oiliness of skin.
