How are you doing today? I am back again to share another natural lip treat with you all from Alba Botanica which is famous for its organic natural ingredients! This was an impulse purchase which turned out so great that I had to re-stock it for everyone at home and myself as well.
I am so impressed to see that it is approximately 82% natural or at least, the ingredients are naturally derived which certainly makes a difference on my sensitive lips. So, let’s read on further to know more about Alba Botanica Hawaiian Coconut Cream Lip Balm today!
This highly moisturizing and deliciously fruity lip balm treats your lips to a nourishing island treat any time of day. A sweet coconut and jojoba seed oil moisturizes thirsty lips while natural plant emollients protect against drying. Always 100% vegetarian.
$2.99 for 0.15 oz (4.2 g). Price varies across stores.
My Experience with Alba Botanica Hawaiian Coconut Cream Lip Balm:
This is my first Alba Botanica lip product and I am quite hopeful to continue with it in future. The balm comes in a usual retractable bullet packaging, just like any usual lip balm would, with a safety cap. It has a heavenly coconut smell and flavor, both too mild to bother my senses. I like the cute, travel friendly packaging which will easily slip inside my hand clutch or even coin purse. However, after several uses, the bullet refused to retract back and I had to apply pressure in order to retract back the product inside packaging which could get messy at times.
Talking about the product, it is a transparent white balm with soft buttery texture. It easily melts on my lips. It leaves a shiny glossy layer that stays put for good 3-4 hours which melts onto skin and makes it moisturized and supple.
I usually wear it alone at home. But, I love to apply it beneath my deep matte stains/lip colors for soft healthy lips and it does its work perfectly with no issues so far. It is rich enough to provide intense hydration to my lips for decent hours. It is a non-sticky, non-greasy balm which does not cause any bleeding on my lips, even with matte stains or lipsticks. In fact, it helps to make them stay put without making lips dry for decent hours.
I feel that since it is naturally formulated, it keeps my lips more soft, supple and healthier than ever before. I never suffer flaky dry lips, even if I skip it for a day or two which explains how moist & rich it could be on our dry skin. However, we have to wait a little in order to see definite results on severe dry, parched lips.
Even if it is not packed with any SPF protection, I can see that it prevents darkening of my lips. The balm feels light on the lips, but I need to re-apply balm every 5-6 hours for prolong soft pink lips as it tends to fade after lunch/dinner or several tea/water breaks.
Despite all this, I am happy that it is not delivering any harmful chemicals like Parabens, SLS etc onto my lips or skin. I am quite happy with this lip balm as I usually need a good hydrating treatment for my lips and it works really well in that aspect. Hence, I would always prefer it over Aveeno or Burt’s Bees. I wish it had SPF protection to make it my HG lip product. I would whole heartedly recommend this to everyone. It is great for every skin type, though severe dry, chapped lips might need patience to notice results.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of Alba Botanica Hawaiian Coconut Cream Lip Balm:
• A rich and hydrating, yet, light weight lip balm infused with goodness of 82% naturally derived ingredients like: jojoba oil, shea butter, coconut oil etc.
• Is a transparent balm that can be easily layered beneath any lip color or lip stain.
• Gives a subtle glossy sheen to lips.
• Repairs dry patches over night or over the time and gives soft, supple and juicy lips.
• Definitely gives intense hydration and supple texture to our normal-dry lips within a week.
• Quite effective against harsh weather and prevents further drying of my lips while treating mild dry chapped skin.
• Does not cause bleeding of lip product when worn beneath any lip product as it is non-sticky & non-greasy.
• Does not contain Parabens, SLS or any harmful chemicals known to harm our skin.
• Is way cheaper and more effective than any high end lip product.
Cons of Alba Botanica Hawaiian Coconut Cream Lip Balm:
• For parched lips, it might take time to show results.
• Lacks SPF.
• We might need frequent touch ups depending upon degree of dryness or texture of our lips.
• After several usage, the product refuses to retract back inside the packaging which could get messy at time.
Well, honestly I don’t think I have any major issues with this charming lip balm. I simply love it over my other chemically formulated lip balms. I am also fine with it not having any SPF as it helps me achieve soft, supple and juicy lips even in harsh weather. I would definitely get it again and again.
